Love it

I bought this lens and on the other day it quality is worse and I returned i got a new lens.the second lens I got was also faulty I messaged sony and they repaired my lens they said the technician report advises that the lens optical alignment is out of spec for this model lens and has ordered the replacement 3-6 group lens assembly and 2nd group lens assembly.how it's even doing this kind of work

Bad quality

Wish I had bought this sooner. This is possibly one of the best lenses of all times. Beautiful lens.

So sharp and the rendering is second to none.

For such a wide aperture lens the weight is really good. Performance wise its top notch. Since purchasing I find its the primary lens I leave on my camera as it allows for great flexibility to quickly switch between different genres of photography. 
High performance, relatively light and flexibility make this a great all round lens.

Fast focusing, mechanism, sharp pictures

Superb at every focal length

I've had the lens for several weeks and am very happy with the design and performance. In recent years I have only used primes and so was apprehensive about the sharpness of the zoom lens. I'm happy to report that it has however surpassed my expectation in that regard.

This is probably the sharpest, clearest, most lifelike lens I've ever shot with. 

It's a little heavy, which is to be expected, and it telescopes. But it's worth it.

Literally the best lens i've ever bought. Sharp as anything from 24-70. im a amateur and you get what you pay for. Sure Sigma may be cheaper but no comparison to this lens.

Superb in every way

The 24-70mm f2.8 GMII lens is one of the best purchase I've ever made. The build quality of the lens is superb. The overall weight balance of the lens is perfect. The image quality, auto focus performance are excellent! It is one of the best lenses to include in your camera kit at all times.

The best 24-70mm f2.8 lenses ever made!

My lens arrived with me in a defective state. 12 days on and still no replacement, and no sign of one.

Appalling

Bought the lens from same place I've bought all my Sony cameras and lenses (Park Cameras) and got an offer of a cash back of £100 from Sony. I had to cut out the serial number from the box the lens came uneven though this was just a sticker that came off easily and could be photographed next to the lens invoice. I emailed back and forth but Sony wouldn't move on this. Now I have a great lens which I'll probably upgrade to the GMiii down the line, but if I come to sell the GMii, I had this stupid hole in the box it came in. stupid idea and ridiculous customer service. Yes it doesn't affect the warranty but the box is ruined, which will affect price when I come to sell in a few years. Feels like its all been a waste of time 

Only way I could give feedback and a review was this way. The review is for Sony and they inept customer service, not the lens itself.

Great Lens, ridiculous process for cash back offer

I bought this lens just over a month ago and I couldn't be any more happier with it. The lens is exactly right for wildlife photography

I had the original GM lens previously which I loved. But this new GM II is better in every way! As advertised!

Creates Amazing Images!

I bought this lens just over a week ago, so very pleased with the quality of the build and the smoothness and quietness of operation, also the sharpness is unbelievable!

Really beautiful lens!

This lens is exceptionally sharp from 24-70mm. 
The Bokeh is especially pleasing at 70mm. The 24-70 GM II is 16mm shorter than the old version which makes the lens feel more balanced with the a7r v. It's also lighter with 695 grams vs 886 gram on the old version. Bravo Sony, keep pushing the boundaries!

A masterpiece.

Great lens for general travel coupled with a 70-200 and a 1.4 teleconvertor. Taking it on holiday next month replacing a 24-240 lens sp will see the diffetence
