The EN-EL4a is a rechargeable Li-ion battery providing 11.1v and 2500 mAh of power to select Nikon D-SLR cameras.  The camera's fuel gauge accurately displays the remaining charge and number of shots since the last charging of the EN-EL4a.  These rechargeable batteries provide extended life and consistent power, even in colder conditions.  Used together with your Nikon D-SLR, the camera's fuel gauge displays the remaining charge and number of shots since the last charging.  The battery is charged using the MH-21 or MH-22 chargers.  The EN-EL4a even gives notice when calibration is necessary.

Battery charged and works perfect.  Spend the extra money and buy an original Nikon battery versus aftermarket one.

Fast delivery.  Adorama is my go-to source for this battery and I've probably bought 6-10 of them here over the last decade. As this is an older product, I'm happy that Adorama is still selling it here in 2023. I've been burned a few times buying secondhand or when using off brand replacements. New from Adorama is my plan from now on... as long as it is still being sold here.

Not sure about this. Appears new but it is marked 4 2019 and it looks like I?ll only get 500-600 shots from its first charge. Will try again after charge is depleted. It may improve.

The En-EL4a allows for longer shooting time due to the battery's capacity.  It is a needed accessory when hiking or doing weddings.

I have always liked the OEM batteries. This is true and it's great for up to 4,100 shots on my camera - amazing!

New battery

I use these batteries with my D2x, F6, and D700.  You need the battery cap for each body, which is only included in the D2x.  BL-3 battery caps used to be very hard to find, but now can be had cheaply to use with the F6 and D700 respective battery packs.

The batteries offer excellent battery life and higher frame rates with the F6 and D700 (8fps).  The only thing I have that kills the batteries quickly is using an external GPS.  This drops the frames per charge from 2000 or so to about 1200 on the D700 and D2x.  I would run out of money for film before I run out of juice on the F6 with this battery.

A great investment and considering I've been using these batteries for over 8 years and they still hold a charge, they are well worth the price.

Long battery life

Bought this battery, had it in 4 days.  Works great in my two D300S's, both with MB-D10s.  I will be buying another one soon since my old battery is listed as 3 by both D300S's.

Bought my Nikon D300 from Adorama with the MB-10D    BL-3  & EN-EL4a in 2007.  That EN-EL4a is still in service TEN YEARS later !!!  Recently, I added a Nikon D300s to the Nikon 200-500mm  f/5.6E ED AF-S VR Zoom NIKKOR Lens I recently purchased from Adorama and a BL-3 & EN-EL4a.  Thinking I may purchase another EN-EL4a as a back-up should my original ever expire !

I've had my original batteries to my D3 for almost 10 years now. But they are now starting to fail and these batteries are becoming harder to find. Hopefully, these batteries will last me a few more years because that's the only limiting factor to my D3 body. Otherwise, it's a work horse!
