I also have the older version of this.  So clearly I'm happy with the product.
Reason it didn't get 5 out of 5 are twofold.  There are monitors with slightly better picture.  It's not bad mind you.  Just not 5 out of 5 good.
The second reason is the controls leave a little to be desired.  The remotes aren't specific to one TV so I have to turn one completely off before tweaking the settings on the other.  The button for navigating the menu on the monitor makes for a clumsy interface.

Good to go other than that.

Bought this and didnt work when recevied. Customer Service is terrible. Still dont have issue resolved.

This is a fantastic monitor with great color, brightness, contrast, and viewing angle. It's heavy and sturdy, and the stand was easy to install. The built-in speakers aren't too bad either.

Great value!

I bought this product after getting a similar review from LTT that you can use it as a seamless monitor for 4 computers. I was able to do that using synergi kvm software and the PIP feature of the TV and more than 4 multiple inputs hdmi, dp, and usb c. My gripe on this monitor is that the backlight does not last, last only until the warranty expires. Some of the LED on the right side is now dim. As much as a wanted to reduce ewaste, It's not repairable since parts are not available publicly and LED backlight is sealed, repair is more expensive than getting a new one.

Stay away from this product, backlight issues

Stay away from this monitor-- it has reliability issues. LED backlight has failed after about 2 years of use, just long enough to be outside the extended warranty offered by my credit card. Half of the screen no longer lights up, making the monitor unusable. This is my fourth LG monitor and my wife still uses one I bought 10 years ago, so I was very upset to see this model fail after such a short time.
If you search for "LG 43UN700-B backlight reddit" you'll see that I'm not the only one to encounter this problem. Buying this monitor is an expensive gamble.

LED backlight failed at 2 years

I bought this 6 months ago. Started to glitch after 3 month and now it's broke. I called the Amazon people and lg but I ended up having to send it back. And pay for the box I Had to send it in. All the while saying I would get reimbursed for. Uep haven't seen that yet. I hope I get my lg monitor back sometime this year but I'm not counting on it. I want a refund but we all know that won't happen

Not good

I was attracted to this monitor largely because of the ability to have multiple computers connected with its Screen Splitting and PIP features.  It has exceeded expectations in this regard, and the remote control was a brilliant idea.  Secondarily, I wanted a 40" monitor for gaming without breaking the bank, and the FPS gaming mode which provides "Dynamic Action Sync" and "Black Stabilizer" have really helped in online gaming.  I could have spent a LOT more money on a monitor with a higher refresh rate, but for the price this monitor does what is needed.  I only wish LG would allow the use of external speakers without automatically disabling the internal speakers, or add a software feature in the menu to turn on/off the external speaker port on the back of the monitor.  Currently, I have my surround sound stereo with subwoofer hooked up to that back port, but unfortuanely I cannot just turn off my stereo and listen to the LG internal speakers while anything is plugged into the port - a real oversight for a large monitor many people will wall mount!  My previous monitor allowed internal and external speakers to be used simultaneously.

And I applied for warranty because I had a problem with the color after not using it for less than a year.They tell me to do the packaging, but I think the service is bad.

Have used this monitor (and its model predecessor) for years. It is easily the best monitor for digital painting, as it has good color calibration as well as spacious layout. For office work, the monitor is an ideal size for seeing documents side by side or showing large spreadsheets.

Excellent monitor

Purchased on sale and performs nicely with my Windows PC or MacBook Pro.  Love the screen space as I did not want two monitors sitting on my desk.  I like the PIP feature as I have Roku set up on one of the HDMI ports.

Great monitor

I was looking for a large monitor for computer work.  I selected one large 4K monitor as opposed to two 2.5K monitors because there are so many Windows bugs when using two monitors (not an issue with MacOS, incidentally).  This size monitor is a little hard to see on the edges when doing computer work.  A curved monitor would be better if you can afford on (or in my case if your employer will approve the purchase).  

It took a few cycles of the power switch to get windows to recognize the monitor the first time.  I hadn?t unpacked the remote at that point in time?. Probably would have been OK if I used the remote to select input source.  The remote is not useful in my situation?just desk clutter.

Good large monitor for the money.

I can manage many applications all at one time, because of the size and with the great resolution I'm able to read all texts

I received this a couple of weeks ago now and have been beyond happy and impressed!  It has everything, I can even charge my phone, earbuds, etc. directly from the monitor which makes things extra convenient.  I have already convinced several people in my office to purchase one as well.  Highly Recommend!

Exceeded Expectations!

I've used this as my only monitor for software development for a year now. I ditched the provided software in favor of another window snapping tool for MacOS, but it has otherwise met all my needs.

Great daily work monitor

I appreciate the out of the box accuracy of this monitor. It is easy to set inputs. My only minor critiques is that I wish you could name the inputs and the on screen menu and remote feel a bit dated.

Solid 4k monitor

This is a fast, stable, HDR monitor that does everything I need.  I can have all my apps open and everything is clear and readable.   Works great with my Mac Studio

Awesome monitor.  Everything I need

I was on the market trying to find a new monitor that was a good size as I work with many applications simultaneously.  First thought I had was to get another flat screen TV and dual-purpose it?s use, but I then stumbled across the LG 43UN700-B computer monitor.  This monitor is an absolute joy to work with, as resolution is high, inputs available are awesome, including USB-C input.  Moving or navigating is easy as it gets.  Just an all around great product!

An awesome remote worker?s monitor

I bought one and bought another one because I loved it. Its big screen is what I most needed. Also, the reader mode makes me easy to see a large screen. Color expressions are also good.

I'm very happy with this monitor. It has great colour and resolution for my needs as a web developer.

I wanted a large central monitor rather than two 32" monitors with a split down the centre. This fit the bill, although I also have two 24" monitors vertically positioned either side of this 43" monitor. If you need a similar setup to mine, this monitor should be perfect for you.

I switched off the HDR setting as it really saturated the colours on screen. That may be ideal for a movie, but for web development and coding I didn't find it useful at all. The remote control that comes with the monitor is very useful, and I am pleased with the array of connections this monitor has. I have only used the DisplayPort 1.4 connection to connect to my MBP, but no problems so far. All in all good value and quality.

Perfect size for productivity

I bought this last year and this has fulfilled most of my needs. This seemed so big at first and I got used to it now.

Color is beautiful

This is my second one of these monitors.  I purchased my first one and liked it very much.  I recently had the need to have a dual monitor setup for my work, so I got another one to put beside the first one and...WOW!  It is so easy to do my work!

Dual Monitor Setup

I bought the same monitor to use mostly for my work at home office work. I love it, it rocks. I bought mine from Bestbuy as an excellent quality like new return. Saved $150 doing that off an already great price. Love the multi ports. Color accuracy is good enough for production work. Has fine tune warm or cool settings if needed. Can also be calibrated if you want more precise color control for photography using a Datacolor Spyder Spyder Spectrophotometer. The monitor can be as precise as you want it to be color wise. I like that it has a  remote, how cool is that? The remote makes changing ports and monitor color control a breeze. I added a Roku USB stick so I can stream with it to for 35 dollars. I use the remote daily to change ports. I hooked up a remote for streaming when not working. I have a Mac and PC laptop connected to it I use for work. The remote makes changing from one to another easy. I like the color temperature controll that allows the color look and feel to be changed globally for a look and feel that is a quock way to adjust that overall feel without calibrating the monitor. LG put a lot of thought into making this monitor practical and easy to use. This monitor is heavy. I recommend hooking up the connection cables while it is flat on a surface. The port connections are in a difficult to access location when the monitor is upright. I also color coded the cables and connections. This is a keeper. Highly recommended. Best in comparative class for the price.

Color/size/resolution Great for work at home

I was looking for two monitors and a docking station to work from home, many items were sold out and I decided to look for one large monitor with split screen capability. This monitor is affordable, had the usb-c I needed and many options for split screens. I definitely recommend and buy again. It is very large so make sure you have space or get a bigger desk!

Working from home & loving the split screens!

I replaced two 27? screens and haven?t regretted it yet. Office teleworking for 2 years and not sure why i haven?t done this yet. Up to 4 screens if needed and 5 inputs. If i could wish for more it would be thinner screen and 120 hz. The remote is a must, Roku never looked better.

wonderful size and features

I bought this to be more productive and it is nice to be able to use one screen that I use to need 3 to do the same thing.  The price point is also really great.
