Fantastic lights for portraiture. Light weight and small. Extremely reliable and versatile. An effortless joy to work with, especially with fine tuned complex light setups. (I own ten units and would love to get more.)

A joy to use for portraiture because of their small size, light weight, consistent and reliable performance.

The unit that I received blew a fuse within the first hour of use. I made about three or four exposures at the lowest setting and the unit was just sitting with the modeling light on when I noticed that it had lost all power. Checked the fuse and sure enough it had blown. I put in a new fuse and it did the same thing times 3 fuses. My room temp was cool so it was not due to the room temp. Perhaps I received a faulty unit? I have a couple of D-Lite 2's that I've had for a few years and this has never happened.

I'll try another one of these to see if it was indeed a faulty unit. I need a low power  strobe with modeling light so I'm hoping this works.

I have been using an Elinchrom D-Lite 2 for a hair light but it is a bit heavy for my boom. Since I had it set at only partial power, I thought that the lighter Elinchrom D-Lite RX One would do the job. My D-Lite 2s recharge almost instantly and are absolutely great for fast shooting but the RX One takes a long time, more than a second to recharge. So it frequently doesn't fire. If it is set at a lower power, it doesn't provide a sufficient balance of light.
