I really love these lights for weddings. They cycle super fast, perfect for keeping up with the action of a dance floor.

Great for wedding photography

Simple and effective. It easily blended in with my AD200s and trigger. I didn't even need to look at the instructions.

Great light

This is a great light. It's a little on the beefier side. Heavy, but built well. The mounting area sticks at times not allowing me to change the angle. I need to use a little force to break the hold but after that it's good to go. No "rickity" sound when changing the angle, that's a plus.

Great light for the money

This strobe had good recycle times and will work with a vagabond mini.

If you need HHS do not buy this light, it can only handle about 20-30 minutes of back to back shooting in HHS mode before it will blow a fuse (12.5 v) Also the fuse is not easy to find so keep up with the ones in your box.  

I had to return this light because I did more HHS than it could handel, how ever if you don't need HHS this is a good strobe.

A lIght with power but not good for HHS

Does exactly what it's supposed to do.  I love these flashpoint strobes, the transmitter receiver combination works great.  I only wish for this one is that a case came with it.

Flashpoint Rapid 400

I bought this for it's flash duration speed.  For the cost, you can't buy a better flash that will stop motion like this flash.  I bought it for dance pictures so I could catch jumps and turns. It syncs easily and responds quickly to my Godox trigger.  Minimal misses in a full day of shooting.

Great, easy to use and effective!

Do like this Flash,  Have the other 400-watt studio mono lights that only go down to 1/16,  These power down to 1/128.   I need this because sometimes in the studio I shoot at F/2.8 and don't need the power. I was forced to use the Flashpoint XPLOR 600 HSS Battery-Powered Monolight to get that low. They work great with the Flashpoint R2 wireless flash system.    I was able to buy these units when on sale, $ - what a deal.

Great addition to my lights

This is my first strobe, so my experience is limited.
The color accuracy is great (I stack macro photos) and the short duration is great for high speed photography

I ordered t his light and it arrived quickly at the house.  I have only used once on the pets, but it had a very nice performance.

Very Nice Light

Bought the 1200w version of this light from Adorama.  I also have the 400w version, it works flawlessly and gets the job done.   The 1200 watt version is considerably bigger and heavier than the 400w this is not an issue.  What is an issue is that it continually blows fuses.  The first couple of sessions were fine but after that it began blowing fuses at first is would blow a fuse, we would change it and go on with our shoot.  Six or so sessions later we began blowing 3 or more fuses right off the bat before we could get the light to stay on.  We had to go out and buy a box of 100 fuses just so we can operate this light.  Needless to say there is some type of design flaw here and given the choice I would not purchase this light again and cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone.  This is an issue that needs to be addressed by Adorama and Godox.

A great addition to the AD200 and AD360 I bought from Adorama. Great T.1 times for freezing action. Adorama's sale made it even better. Great for studio use.

Highly recommended for studio use.

Great light, plenty of power and recycles quickly even with a battery pack (I use the vagabond mini lithium).  Syncs up great with my R2 transmitter and works in harmony with the 200, 360 as well as their Flashpoint speed light.  Can't go wrong with this.  I have 2 of them.

Flashpoint Rapid 600

I'm a commercial automotive photographer that shoots at various remote locations. This light helps me overcome ambient light to produce excellent results. It can shoot for hours on a single battery charge. The bowens mount allows a tremendous number of accessories to be added.  It doesn't have the color accuracy that some studio setups would require, but overall its an excellent, reasonably priced option that produces excellent results.

Fast!

I haven't had time to use it a lot yet but it seems to work perfectly.  The carrying case is of decent quality as well.  I'm planning on using it with the large umbrella I just recently purchased.

Shot with this light a few times now, it’s a good second light. It does the job, I just wish for the price it wasn’t as clunky feeling when physically handling it. But that’s how it is in photography.. if it’s not a grand it’s not top of the line.. 3 stars for doing the job tho ????????

Does the job for sure, just a little clunky when handling.

It’s a monolight, so it’s heavy. That aside, it functioned flawlessly with my Godox system. I’ve used it for one studio shoot, so far, as I’ve only had it less than a month. I purchased it specifically to work with my Westcott 47” Zeppelin, and with the mounting bracket, the weight was no issue. Absolutely enough power for the 47, although I’m now looking at the 1200. Over 400 exposures, and it did not miss a beat. Great value.

This is one I wish I bought sooner.  Only missing proportional mode.  It needs a good socket as it sucks power from the wall.

I love this light

When I opened this light I was surprised to see two extra fuses in the box.  Then the first time I turned it on it blew a fuse.  Replaced the fuse and it worked fine for the rest of the shoot.  On the second shoot I was very careful turning it and it worked for a couple of shots and then blew a fuse.  Replaced fuse and it worked fine for rest of shoot.  Same thing happened on the third shoot.  So I have used it for three shoots and have blown three fuses.  Contacting Adorama to see if this is common or whether I should return it for a replacement.   When the lights works the light is great, but .... how many fuses do I have to carry with me?

Great power and works well with my Nikon and Fujifilm cameras.  HSS works perfectly. Using it with a XL Rapid Box and 7' umbrella. love it.

Super

The actual light and performance are great. The rapid recharge is super helpful.
The housing is a little flimsy, could have been a little more solid, you don't want large boxes on this light.
The absence of carrying case, compared to the 600 is a significant oversight. The cardboard box falls apart in about 2 weeks and you have nowhere to keep this light. 
Adorama, please include storage case to make this a great product.

Almost top notch

Overall this is an excellent light and a dramatic improvement on most 'beginner' lights.
Recycle time is excellent on almost any setting. Lots of modes to choose from, built in remote, etc. 
There are some minor flaws.
1. The base is flimsy and should be all metal, the plastic tightening handle is flimsy.
2. The pin holding portion of the base should be deeper to allow for longer more stable pins to go in.
3. The screw is small and flimsy as well.
4. The base is positioned in a bad way, it needs to be way forward to balance the softbox. With anything other than the smallest lightest ones the light tips forward. 
5. The special modes are cumbersome to enter and seem to recent to "basic shooting" after a burst.
6. The multi mode is limited and could have more customization as to syncing with the camera. It just seems to fire off the dialed in number and that's it, no way to control it otherwise.

Overall, a significantly better light than most out there approaching full professional level.

Excellent with minor flaws.

This is one of the most solid and best built moonlights I have ever owned. The ease at which you can set all trigger parameters, as well as set slave mode among a series of there R2 style moonlights is truly effortless. Wish we had all found the solution to our needs soon...had to send back a similar defective moonlight.

Flashpoint Rapid 600 gets it down

The specs are a little misleading regarding the shortest optical pulse width, evidently it's not as fast stated for a single pulse. The fastest is for a burst, while a single pulse is about 1/20000 second, and not the stated 1/29000 second. Still pretty fast and everything else seems in order for the strobe.
