This seems like a good camera, but, it doesn't really feel like a Leica.  It is very similar to the Panasonic FX2500, at a lot more money.  Image quality seems pretty good, but not exceptional.

Great camera for travel.

I bought this camera after I purchased the D-Lux.  I wanted the same image quality with more reach.  Not only did it not disappoint, but it exceeded my already high expectations!  For those who put a premium on image quality, this camera is legit!

If you are a stickler for build quality, then you're not gonna be impressed with the plasticky body. But because I am very gentle with my cameras, this is a non-issue for me.

If image quality was the only feature I was allowed to evaluate, then I would give this camera a "no-brainer" 5.  But I do wish it had the D-Lux 7's body style, and I also wish it had an f2.8 max telephoto aperture like the D-Lux 7 (the V-Lux has a max aperture of f4 at the telephoto end). But those issues are not nearly enough to prevent me from recommending this camera.

Totally Underrated Dark Horse of a Camera

I love it!

I love this camera, it has so many different types of settings.  I'm still learning about it. I have shot with canon cameras all my life but needed to down size for travel and this Leica V Lux fit the ticket. I love its zoom. Very nice eye view. And simple to use. The only thing I would like to see is better weather proofing. But nothing a rain sleeve can't handle for now.

Love it, simplicity is key.
