Shopper : Does the Hoya protector filter out UV with all those coatings? I tried to find the answer on the Hoya site but it didn't say anything about this. Thanks!GEORGE C : Hoya is one of the best filter mfg out ther. I'm sure the high grade coatings will do just fine. I always just buy the regular filters and have never had any color problems.BRIAN T : my understanding is that the clear protector does not filter uv. you need to buy the filter that says UV to have the protection. FRANK W. G : I was wanted a protective lens cover when I bought. This fit the bill for that purpose and I doubt it has specially designed coatings for UV. The glass will reduce some UV as you probably know. Good luck on your search!ROBERT M : No, the Hoya HD Protector does not filter UV. The Hoya HD UV does filter UV.
