Expensive but very good product
Expensive but very good product. Much more compact than the JJC version and keeps the camera streamlined and classy as it is meant to be. I bought the slimmest uv filter I could find (a JJC multicoated uv from Amazon) and sanded the front threads a little bit at a time being very careful not to scratch the filter glass, until it fit with the auto lens cap. I am very satisfied and would buy again if needed.

Lumix LX100 - auto lens cap
This Panasonic cap for the LX100 is excellent, very high quality, snug fit, much nicer lines than the off-brand, 3rd party offering. It's perfect, completes the LX100.

Passive protection
This tulip-type lens shades deploys its 'petals' as the lens extends when the camera is switched on.

Works well as a lens protector
I bought this to use and protect the lens while riding a bicycle and photographing subjects and people on the go. It works well even in cold weather. The though of scratching up a Leica Lens is more than I wanted to bear. As the lens expands so does the cover and vice versa. Thus when taking the camera in and out of a fanny pack on a repeated basis one does not need to worry. good product.

Compatible Lens Cap for the other Lumix DMC-LX100
I'm using it on another quality mirror-less camera with similar specifications, shared with the LUMIX DMC-LX100.
I like the fact that I don't need to bother removing the lens cap before taking a picture, like I had to do with my vintage, D-LUX 4.
I just wish that this accessary was constructed in metal, in lieu of plastic.

It's ok but not perfect
I got this auto lens cap so that I don't have to always remember to remove the lens cap before turning on the camera. It is really convenient.
However, this lens cap is not tall enough to accommodate a UV or ND filter, so the front lens element is not protected while in use.
There is now third party options that is tall enough to accommodate a filter, and is also less expensive.
