Honestly the single largest disappointment in my professional photo career. Obviously Profoto lights are fine, but the modifiers are nothing special, whatsoever. I?m so tempted to make a video illustrating how, not only are they ordinary? the Glow Series III (the cheap ones) are actually so close to identical that its sickening. Same specs, speedrings, reflective interior texture, stitching? all of it! I returned the 48 octa and the 1x3 strip. I have been deceived, and it has changed the way I view Profoto forever. For the exact same results and build, get the Glow. To up your game, the Elinchrom modifiers are remarkably better in every way.

Great quality, I?m PROFOTO not bu choice but by the demand of what I do. I need reliable, ok it was a strategic choice.

I love my new Profoto 3' Octo it has a beautiful soft yet crisp look that is amazing i use the Octo for business ,acting and Modeling headshots I highly recommend this product ! Thanks again Patrick

The light quality from the 4' octa is lovely, but I'm very disappointed with the build quality and (lack of) ease of assembly. The seams are very weak where the panels are sewn together and tear easily. You must be very gentle and careful when assembling not to put too much tension on the fabric. Also, the rods have a tendency to fall out of the pockets that hold them, so every time you assemble you are wrangling 8 rods that may or may not be holding in the right place. Chimera does not have this problem.

This octa seems better made than some and it is somewhat deeper and heavier than others of its size. The fabric is extra sturdy. The light quality is great from medium to close in. Lovely light wrap. You can easily do portraits with this box alone as the key or just this and one other fill source. It is silver lined so it is somewhat more specular than a white interior or indirect rig.... but nice with both diffusers in. I have not used it with only one diffuser and do not plan to. This box is precisely made so putting it together and taking it apart - off the speed ring - for travel is more difficult and time consuming than other brands. So much so - that it cannot really be recommended for location work if other people depend on your time and attention. if you are going to be in a studio all day it is clearly worth the effort. Profoto can address this with a new design and I hope they do. If you are using it with a Profoto monolight you need mount the speed ring all the way back on the light head and use a glass dome to prevent a hot spot. The Acute heads already have a glass dome but it is still best to push the speed ring all the way onto the head.

Very well constructed, it is somewhat difficult to set up by yourself, but the images are well worth it. I use this for portrait work and it gives very pleasing wrap and a nice catch light. it is large so you need space, it is about 2 1/2' deep when attached to the speedring (not including the monolight). It does pack nicely into the storage bag.

I use this for portrait work. The size is perfect for small indoor areas and the light gives a good wrap. It is somewhat difficult to setup by yourself but the images are worth it. It packs nicely into the storage bag.
