I have several of these type of muslin backgrounds and love them. One of the biggest complaints by reviewers is that they are too thin, which is true. I went to a fabric store, bought some very inexpensive dark gray felt like material (9'x9') and clamped it to the top of the backdrop bar and ran it down the backside and then clamped it to the bottom of the backdrop at the floor. Takes just a minute to do and eliminates any light from coming thru the back.

Purchased this based on recommendation of another. Was a mistake. The background is made of very thin material and you can see through it during a shoot. You would have to place it backed up to a neutral wall to use. Since I shoot exclusively on location, that isn't always practical. The product is poorly sewn and is not hemmed around the perimeter. I'm sure it will unravel with use. There are much better products available, especially for the money. Will be returning it. I would not recommend.

The item that arrived was used, not new, and it had been dyed with a strong magenta color. And it had red tape along one of the edges. The dye actually came off on my hands.

This is a a great product. We used it at a shoot a few days after we got it. It mounted well on our Calumet Heavy Duty Background with 3 3' cross beams. I really like how thick the material is. It comes with a great storage bag. It folds up easily. Yes, this product was a little more expensive than some of the others, but I really think it is worth the extra money.

This is just your everyday Muslin white background. Arrived folded with creases. Should be able to reduce the creases by hanging or ironing. Hangs quickly.

I use this Background in my Studio for portraits. I have no complaints or anything bad to say about it, it is the background that I use the most. I always get good feedback from my clients on how nice the background looks when they review their proofs, which is VERY important! If I had to purchase it again I would have spent the extra $$$ and bought the 10'x24'.

I used this for a baby photo shoot last week, and the pics came out really well! I think it will also work well for wedding shoots.

Good light-to-medium backdrop. Only problem is persistent folds & creases.

Good general-purpose backdrop for portraiture. Only complaint is persistent creases where folded. I would buy others from Westcott / Adorama.

I have used this background for low key portraits with great results. Comes with a rod pocket for easy install on background support systems. With the use of a background light and some color filters the possibilities are endless.

I don't have time to paint my own and I really liked the coloring of this background. I used it for executive portraits and took out wrinkles in photoshop. It was a bit lightweight and I could easily see light coming through it but I was able to control background like for the shoot. It would be a problem outdoors.

due to heavier painting, need to fold/keep flat - versus regular muslins which do not show creases

I'm a backdrop nut -- and this one quickly became my favorite. I bought it primarily for children's photos -- but found many adult clients asking if I would use it for them -- also looks very cool with pet photos. For some reason the colors just seem to compliment all types of skin tones (and fur tones!). The fabric is substantial (not flimsy) and it lights beautifully with large, softbox, continuous lighting.
