Use People in Your Composition for Dynamic Depth and Perspective

PPSOP Presentation

Get immediate foreground interest and a dynamic sense of scale by including people in your composition.

In this special PPSOP video presentation, Adorama's Bryan Peterson shows you how adding people to your composition creates a dynamic sense of scale when using a wide angle lens on location.

Bryan says:

If you know my work, you know that I love shooting with wide angles with dramatic foreground interest.  I call shooting like this 'Storytelling' and it is a LOT of fun.  Many times people go out of their way to make sure the shot is nice and clean and shoot at a time when pedestrians and people are not cluttering up the shot.  But take a look at these shots.  One without the person and one with - I think you'll agree that the person in the second shot lends a really nice sense of scale and adds a lot of depth as well.  Take a look at the video above where I demonstrate step by step, how to pre-focus and get tremendous depth from front to back with your wide angle lens.
