I love this camera strap! The strap is very thoughtfully designed for women. I am tall (5'10") with a proportionate chest, and this strap lays flat and distributes the weight of even a giant lens quite nicely. I shoot ice hockey quite often, and a Canon 6D + 70-200mm IS lens is no problem. In addition, because I screw the tripod into the lens base instead of the camera, this strap stays on the camera to keep everything safe. I haven't had any problems with the attachment coming loose. There is a rubber gasket between the screw and the camera that provides a good deal of friction to keep it from unscrewing. I ordered the tether kit, but have not received it yet. I will use it when it arrives, because I can't imagine not having a back up plan for $4K+ camera gear around my body, but it doesn't seem like it will fail. I appreciate all the previous warnings, though, and check the connection often.

I can't give it 5 stars yet because I haven't been out traipsing around with my camera on my neck yet, but it's on my camera and ready to go. It was easy to put on and doesn't feel like the screw-in fastener is questionable at all. The strap fits my body perfectly and it's comfortable with the camera resting on my hip. I expect to save a lot of neck pain with this cross-body style.

I have straps for wrist, belt, double cameras, and neck. This one is my favorite for walking around, especially with a larger lens. It is not as ideal for times you will be needing a tripod, as it uses the tripod mount hole to attach. It is perfectly comfortable, a better size for packing than the B.Rapid with the pockets and larger padding.

Works really great, but remember just because it is curved for women, all women are built differently. Probably could have gotten away with a mans strap but irregardless this is a really nice strap. It is exactly as advertized. I would recommend it.

I love the new strap. It is so much better than the one that came with my camera.

After much research and reading many reviews, I went with the strap that had what I was looking for. This strap is comfortable, easy to adjust and is very durable. I wore it first to photograph a wedding for 7 hours and it was worth every penny. I will never use the original camera strap with a cutesy cover again. This is a fantastic strap!

I love this strap so much that I have given them as gifts to my friends who are beginning photograhers using a DSLR as well as professionals. I have a heavy lens plus I carry 3 of my lenses with me in a shoot sac. The BlackRapid helps distribute the weight away from the neck and frees up my hands while I am searching for a lens in my bag to swap out.

I recently visited Busch Gardens w/ a group of friends & of course, I bring my camera w/ me everywhere. I have a Nikon D90 w/ a battery grip on it & I used the 18-200mm lens. The only strap that comes w/ the camera is what I used. Needless to say, by the end of the day, my neck was really sore. That night, I went looking for a different strap online. I love shopping @ Adorama, & of course found the Black Rapid RS-W1 Women's Strap available. I bought it and I love it. What a difference...my neck is saved w/ this light weight strap. I will never go back to using the old camera straps. In fact, I will purchase another for my second camera....it makes a world of difference.

I USE IT FOR MY NIKON DSL CAMERA. IT IS SO COMFORTABLE, AND FITS SO WELL I DON'T FEEL ANY PULLING ON MY NECK OR SHOULDER LIKE BEFORE.

Very comfortable strap, really distributes the weight of the camera well, which helps on those long shooting days. I use it together with Canon's E1 hand strap - perfect combination!

Two friends said they would not go back to a conventional strap - now I wouldn't, either. Tried this as soon as I got it and love it. It is comfortable and convenient. Instead of having anything hanging off your neck, it is much better having this across from a shoulder. Although I am a bit short it doesn't mean I don't have other curves. The women will get my drift. The curve of this women's design rested right where it should be. I wore it for quite some time even the first day and it stayed comfortable. Another plus is that you don't look "tourist".

My wife loves this... the design and build quality are outstanding. The folks at Black Rapid obviously put a lot of thought into this thing...

Using the Black Rapid is so freeing and awesome to wear. Finally someone figured out such a great product to also design for women. I think it's the best investment I made and I love using it when I'm out shooting and it doesn't strain my neck.

It is comfortable and adjustable although it took a little bit of time to get it just right. All in all I love it!!

When I bought this, the salesman told me that "women are buying the regular Black Rapid 'for men' instead, and they're saying this one is unnecessary." Well, here's what I think. Not all women are built the same!!! Some women might have...um...more prominent reasons that require a contoured strap, and others might not. Neither is good or bad, it just is what it is. I personally found the regular BR strap, (NOT necessarily JUST for men by the way!) to be less comfy than the RSW-1, which fits like it was made for me. I love this thing. I also looked into getting another fastener after having read some reviews that suggest it might be a good idea to do that. Well, I didn't. The Black Rapid fastener that it comes with is just fine - does not mark up my camera and is quite secure. I was also told that a lot of women don't like the floral design. Well, that's a personal, aesthetic choice, but I don't find it to be too girly or even all that noticeable. It's not like they designed it with some cheesy, colorful flowers or anything. It's so subtle, it's just fine. My only complaint is the lack of instructions on how to fit and set this thing up - other than a little not-so-great video on the Black Rapid site or on YouTube, I couldn't find anything else to help out with that. But once you figure it out, this thing is absolutely great. Me and my "prominent reasons" for having a contoured strap are very appreciative and very happy with this product.

This camera strap has been a lifesaver! Well, it hasn't saved my life, exactly, but it HAS saved me from several headaches, bad posture, a dented camera, and the dreaded conspicuousness (is that a word?) of having a camera bouncing on my chest as I walk during a shoot. My "regular" camera strap gave me headaches because of the weight on the back of my neck (and how it changed my posture). I also had trouble with my old strap when I was bending over to work with little ones. My camera would swing right into the model OR the props as I leaned down. Not good! Well, not any more! Since using my new BlackRapid strap, I can securely have my camera right by my hand at my side....or swung around to my back. And, it stays behind me when I work with models and props. No dings or injured models. Ha! Additionally, the way the camera hangs (upside down) makes grabbing it quickly a cinch! The grip is right where I need it to be...like how a cowboy draws a gun out of a holster! The most important aspect to this strap is the fact that it doesn't trigger headaches for me like the traditional behind-the-neck strap. The weight of the camera is not on the back of my neck, so I have decreased headaches...and better overall shooting posture. Lastly, I really appreciate the fact that the BlackRapid makes me less conspicuous a shooter. I can have the camera slung to my rear when interacting with people or crowds where I want to blend in. My camera is not bouncing on my chest shouting "hey, here comes a PHOTOGRAPHER with a big camera!". I can be seen as a regular person in delicate situations and not cause a distraction...because my camera is hidden behind me when I am not taking a photo. I will NEVER go back to a traditional behind-the-neck strap. Ever! Ingenious invention for us photographers! Thank you, BlackRapid!

At first I thought the contour strap was a gimmick, but in reality it is quite comfy! I love my new strap! My only gripe has to do with the fastener that attaches to the bottom of the camera. I genuinely feel that with continuous use it can easily become loose with the movement of the camera. I will be buying the Sun Sniper Bear instead to replace the one that came with this strap :/ I would've given this 5 stars, but this issue cost my rating 1 star.

The BlackRapid RS-W1 Camera Strap is a lightweight strap specially designed with a curved pattern for women. A locking FastenR3 connects the strap to the tripod socket located on either the camera body or the lens. Once connected, the camera hangs upside down, resting securely at the side or in the small of the back, with the lens pointing behind. The strap has a curved pad with a mesh underside for comfort and breathability. The weight is evenly distributed for comfort.
