Questions & Answers

Shopper : do they work with any AA battery charger?GREGORY G : Try should work fine with any charger. Mine work fine with my non-Sanyo (LaCrosse) charger. RUSSEL R : Probably not any charger. The early chargers only charged Ni-Cad batteries. The newer chargers will do both Ni-Cads and NiMh, which is what these are. Be sure the charger you are using can handle NiMh batteries. I also recommend a smart charger such as a LaCrosse BC-700. It will fully charge the batteries without over charging them.RODOLFO S : Hi: Any charger which charge standard Ni-MH batteries RegardsCARL B : Yes. I generally use a quick charger of some sort.MIKE C : yep.. anyone designed for AA batteries.WILLIAM P : yes they willGLEN B : iDON'T ;KNOW, BUT THEY WORK WITH MINE. Ask Adorama, they probably know.TODD B : I had the same question when I purchased. Here is what I found. Can I use a "Quick Charger" to charge an eneloop battery? Though it is possible to charge an eneloop battery in a "Quick Charger", it is not recommended. We recommend charging eneloop batteries in a NiMh charger that is 2 hours or more. Charging eneloop batteries in a "Quick Charger" can reduce the overall life of the battery. It is strongly recommended to use eneloop, Sanyo or Sanyo NiMh battery chargers. We only warrant eneloop if used with an eneloop, Sanyo or Sanyo NiMh battery charger. Will my eneloop battery charge in any other charger other than the eneloop charger? It is strongly recommended to use eneloop, Sanyo or Sanyo Ni-MH battery chargers. Most Ni-MH rechargeable battery chargers may be used to charge eneloop, however we only warranty eneloop if used with an eneloop, Sanyo or Sanyo Ni-MH battery charger. Is my eneloop or Sanyo Ni-Mh only able to charge eneloop or Sanyo-Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries? With an eneloop or Sanyo Ni-Mh charger you can charge all Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries. We recommend using eneloop or Sanyo Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries as our chargers are made to suit the requirements of those batteries perfectly.MELINDA P : They do!TUNGA K : yes they do. they operate just like any other rechargeable battery.JASON R : No, you need the special Eneloop charger. You can get a starter pack of Eneloop batteries that includes the AA / AAA chargerCRAIG S : I don't know if they work with any/every battery charger, but they work with my MAHA 8 battery charger.
Eric M : These are not the latest generation, right? Right now (April 2012), there is a 3rd generation model, HR-3UTGB, versus these which are HR-3UTGA. Is the only difference the number of recharges being 1,500 for the "A" instead of 1,800 for the "B"?MARC F : As far as I know, the answer to your question is that the difference is 300 more recharges in the B versus the A.Eric M : Thank you for the replies. I'm looking forward to getting these, my old ones are at 4 years old and just don't hold a charge any more.ROB L : Yes, they are UTGAs. I use them in my DeLorme PN-60 handheld GPS and love them. They last a good 9 hours of constant use. I have not seen any UTGBs but I like these so much I have no need to search. Good luck.LAURA G : I don't think these are the newest ones, but I've got a few packs of them and they're good.
TOM H : Do I need a special charger for these batteries, or will they work with any AA battery recharger? Thanks!BRYSON L : I have only used the charger that came with my 1500 eneloop AA batteries. Haven't tried any other chargers. I would stick with same brand chargersLESLIE R : I was wondering the same thing when I purchased them. But, I decided to purchase the charger anyway because the batteries came highly recommended. They have performed very well in the flash for my DSLR. The charger purchase was worth the peace of mind.DOUG S : Any battery charger will work. I use the La Crosse Technology BC-700 Alpha Power Battery Charger and have been really happy with it and the eneloop batteries.J. S : This from the Sanyo Eneloop site: "It is strongly recommended to use eneloop, GE/Sanyo or Sanyo NiMh battery chargers. Most NiMh rechargeable battery chargers may be used to charge eneloop, however we only warranty eneloop if used with an eneloop, GE/Sanyo or Sanyo NiMh battery charger. "MIGUEL B : No, you don't need a special charger any AA battery charger is ok. I have the La Crosse BC -700 charger and the Tenergy TN156 and both will charge those eneloop batteries.MARC P : I have a Duracell 1 hr charger that works just fine with these batteries. Any charger should work as long as it is set for NiMh batteries. Older rechargeable batteries used NiCad cells which are different. Many chargers have a selector switch; As long as you have NiMh selected you should be in good shape.SNAPPING SHUTTE P : I have used the charger purchased with the 4 pack and other AA slow (trickle) chargers with great success .JEFF T : I have used the Sanyo and Energizer chargers without any trouble - love these batteries!TODD P : I believe they work with any charger, but it's recommended you use one with individual circuits for each battery you're charging. They cost a little more, but you're guaranteed to get a full charge on each battery rather than having the charger shut off as soon as one single battery reaches full charge, as single-circuit chargers do. I bought the Maha 8-cell one hour charger and it works great! I have one at home at one at the office.DIXON T : i've been charging them with a rayovac charger i got from wal martROBERT W : Hi Tom, You can use a regular charger that supports NiMh (Nickel Metal-Hydride) batteries (which most chargers support). These batteries are great - and look good, too. it's silly to buy batteries that look cool, but I like them! - RobMATTHEW M : Yes they should work fine with any charger designed for NiMH batteries, just beware of rapid chargers that will shorten the life of the batteries regardless of brand.FRED C : Eneloop batteries can be charged in any charger designed for NiMH batteries.GLENN H : I'm not sure about if you can use any charger, I bought a Sanyo Eneloop charger to charge mine.

Very Satisfied

When used in conjunction with a good charger, it comes up as a solid performer. Have only used it a few times now, but based on my past experience with Eneloop, this should be just as good. The different color for each battery is a little distracting at first, but I bought 2 packs so then I have 2 in each color, which then help me use/charger/monitor them in pairs, which I like.

good value

last longer than ni-cads and hold their charge. i carry 2 extra flash units that i use for aux. lighting, since i don't use them all of the time they stay in the bag unused and with ni-cads they had no charge after a short period of time. i have not had this problem since i switched to these batteries.

No mistaking who's batteries are who's!

I kept accusing my daughter of having some of my Eneloops. After seeing this "Bling" appearance package, I knew I had to buy them for her. No mistaking who's is who's now!

Awesome Batteries

I went with my friend to photograph him on the range and the batteries just kept going. Every shot was with the flash on and they still have a lot of charge left when we got home.

Eneloop is of one those products that are so consistently reliable. When I think of rechargeable batteries, eneloop is the first in mind.

Great Batteries

I love these batteries for flashes. They last longer than normal AA batteries per charge AND they recharge. Flash cycles faster than with normal AA batteries also. They don't last as long per charge as the XX versions, BUT they recharge so many more times and cost less. For what you get, these have the best price/performance ratio by far.

Cute AND efficient!

These are actually very reliable and long-lasting batteries, surprising since they're also so darn cute to look at! I wish my Speedlite had a see-through battery cover, just to show them off a little... ;)

Greate Batteries

These are the best rechargeables I've ever had. When I received them, they had a full charge. Although I haven't done a scientific test, they seem to last longer than my other rechargeables. When they are just sitting and waiting, they hold their charge. With other batteries, I have to charge them before use - a waste of time. These are the only rechargeable batteries I will buy now.

Work Great

Work great, they're eneloops. Nothing more needs to be said. Bought 4 packs so that I could keep track of batteries in groups for flashes.

So far, so good

I put them into the camera right out of the package ten days ago and they're still going strong, including an evening of using flash. The biggest weakness of rechargeable batteries has been that most lose their charge while sitting, so I would often find all my batteries dead when I needed them. These are supposed to hold a charge, and so far that appears true, as well as have a lot of power in use.

Very nice product and *Color*.

Perfect. Having a battery that can hold charge for a long time and enough juice to power a DSLR is just handy for those cases you may run out of power in your camera.

GET THESE! You will NOT be disappointed!

I have no idea what Sanyo did in the Eneloop cells. The 2,000 mAh can charge today (or buy new and don't bother to charge), and months or years later, they're still charged. The specifications claim 85% charge after 1 year, and that seems reasonable. But the key point is that the Eneloops will always be charged when you use them, and you'll always get your 2,000 mAh! NOT the bogus reading but actual 2,000 mAh! Try it! You won't believe it!

These work great in my Nikon Flashes. The colors help me keep the same lot of batteries organized for each flash (no mixing of different ages/types of batteries)

Best batteries ever.

I knew about eneloop batteries from the days when I worked for [@]as a morning stocker. I'd been stocking product in the hardware section and came across these... thinking it'd be a big money saver to just get rechargeables, I got the kit. That was 4 years ago. I've used those same 8 batteries for 4 years, people. Yes, this brand is legit. Buy them. You won't be disappointed.[Note: this product is ONLY the 8 batteries. It does not come with a charger.]

They are a great battery. Excellent shelf life. I was a diehard fan of the coppertop batteries but now eneloop is the only battery I have in my home.

Don't Waste Your Time - Go Eneloop Now

Best NiMH rechargeables out there. Don't be put off by lower capacity than some of the others - the same ones that discharge at a phenomenal rate because they have skimped on insulating material to cram in more active substrate. Whats important is to know you can rely on that battery when the time comes to swap it out - Eneloops are just that - reliable.

Very good battery

I bought two of these for my 580EX II and battery pack. They work perfectly right out the box and last very long. I've shot over 1000 shots and it still work like a charm for a single charge. Highly recommended.

Best batteries for my Digital SLR

Eneloops are my favorite battery for my cameras, They are the most reliable rechargeables Ive found for Digital SLR's. I LOVE the glitter edition, they add some fun and originality and help to sort the charged from need to be charged ones by color. A great product!

Excellent Batteries

By JimC

I used a hobby charger to verify capacity and they work well. I measured better then 1900mah 5 times in a row.

SANYO is celebrating the 5th Anniversary of eneloop by releasing eneloopglitter, a new limited edition pack of eneloop in size AA.

Just as the classical eneloop, the eneloop glitter batteries get pre-charged at the Japanese factory with electric power, which is generated from solar energy. For this reason the batteries are ready to use directly after being purchased. Thanks to its low self discharge eneloop glitter keeps approximately 75% of its initial charge even after 3 years of storage. Like eneloop, eneloop glitter can get recharged up to 1500 times. The batteries are having a nominal voltage of 1,2V and a rating capacity of 2000 mAh. Additionally the limited edition packs include batteries in 8 different glitter colors: purple, pink, orange, yellow, light green, light blue, silver and black, which enables users to pick colors according to their taste or to use colors to remember which batteries are charged and which ones need to be recharged.
