I had used a neck strap for SO MANY yrs. and I got tired of it. So changing over to the hand strap really helped. I have used the hand strap by itself & also with the neck strap & also with a "sling/swing" shoulder strap set-up. Either one of those 3 set-ups you use, the hand strap just gives you a more secure feeling when handling your Dslr ! I have mine on a Canon 50d with a Canon extended battery grip and it works great !

If you are tired of wearing a neck strap this is the item to have. It will never come off your hand if used right.

If you have a battery grip, you might really want to think about this. I love that I have one and came with metal buckle "link" that alowed me to use my neck strap at the same time.

I wanted a strap that does not tangle or swing while I mount the camera on tripod. It is a nice strap, but if you want to handhold your camera while walking, it may be better to have a neck strap. This one does not come in my way when using my camera on tripod..

I loved this strap and find myself using it more and more. It was difficult to attach but now that I have gotten the hang of it it's not so bad.

A great addition for someone with a grip. It really allows the hand to relax which is very important when shooting for more than an hour.

i don't use a neck strap but the spider holster and the canon E-1 hand strap comes in very handy ( no pun intended). the hand strap helps me secure my camera when i remove it from the spider holster.

I really like the secure feeling you get for control of my camera when I use this strap. I do a lot of rock scrambling on beaches and such and it just helps me grip my camera. I use this on a Canon 1Ds MkII and it really helps. I had to search on line for a 3rd party person who took the time to show folks how to strap this onto the camera. If they had given instructions, it would be a perfect 5 star rating

comes with no instructions on how to attach it to your camera. you'll need to search online to know how to attach. Could use more padding.

Ordered expecting this to be a better solution than the bulky neck strap that comes with the Rebel XSi. Will not attach unless you are using a battery grip.

Sweet leather feel, and it gives me a better flexibility. I prefer this over the neck strap.

It makes the camera a part of you in that it is an extension of your arm

The product itself is great, but as others have commented, it comes with no instructions. The only instructions are in very small print included in the battery grip installation instructions.

Gives me a secure handle on my camera without having to use the neck strap. Thus, it is less confining and more comfortable.

Works OK but wish instructions had been supplied for attaching this correctly to the camera and base. It makes getting to the flash card a little more difficult. Vertical shots using the base trigger are also more difficult. For use around the studio without a tripod it works great.

Definitely the best hand strap around. Only works with 1D bodies or cameras with a battery grip. The attachment is convoluted and impossible if it weren't for someone posting the instructions on Flickr. Canon really should include a xerox of the instructions with the strap. [@]

It's a great strap that does exactly what it should. I only have 2 minor complaints and one is actually with the camera. First, I think Canon should make the top attachment for this strap back a little away from the shutter. I find my index finger doesn't have much room to press the ISO and other buttons when I have all four fingers in the strap, so I use it with 3 finger in the strap and my index going over the top. Second, attachment instructions do not come with the strap, and it is a bit confusing. They come with the battery grip, but I only found that out from searching a forum, so I had to go digging through my closet to find them.

Like the headline says, the hand strap adds confidence to using the camera. I feel my grip is much more secure especially over long periods of shooting with the grandkids or in crowds. 4 stars due to the price being a bit high given the materials used and it feeling a bit sloopy at times. Not insecure, just seems to have trouble finding the perfect spot.

Very simply, if you have a battery pack attached to you XTi or XSi body, you need this strap.

I use this in conjunction with a Tamrac N5059 Leather Padded Digital Camera Strap. It is made of all leather. If you have a Canon Battery Grip, the instruction on how to attach it are included with the grip.

Either the included directions were missing, or there simply weren't any: I had to just deduce how to attach this to the body and have it be adjustable. Once it's on there, it's great, and makes it much easier to carry the body around town without a neck strap and not be all nervous about it.
