after owning a Denon avr 3802 for the last 20 yrs and it still working just fine I decided to get something new with a lot of features the 3802 did not have, and X2800H has that,But I made a mistake in ordering it and after doing research I am kicking my self in the butt. . I should have ordered the X4800H its got a lot more power that my speakers would love and a few other things that I would loved to have. . . I only wish I could exchange the 2800 for the 4800. oh well

Very good movie sound! So many settings to compensate and get to desired sound! The only BIG problem that I see is lack of punch in bass in multi ch stereo and stereo. Don't know how this is since the bass is there and sounds ok, but it lacks the attack. I guess this is a software problem since the Dolby has it. Maybe tech dep gets it and finds a soft solution.

After three Yamaha and two Onkyo AVRs over the last 20 years, I decided to buy my first Denon, the AVR-X2800H, in October of '24. And six months later I remain pleased with the purchase. Current setup is 5. 1 with Klipsch R600F L/R in front; RP600C in the middle; R40M L/R surrounds; SPL-120 sub; but will expand soon to 7. 1 with 2nd pair of R40M for rear surrounds and then switch from manual setup to Audyssey room correction. I am thinking that will make an audible improvement as the upstairs game room features four odd vaulting slopes to ceiling. As it is, the x2800 performs well for what I ask of 70% home theater/30% audio. Connection and setup to the first tv (optical audio) and my new LG C4 OLED (2. 1 eArc HDMI) was quick although I needed to dig deep for the correct audio out setting on the LG. No CEC issues. Bluetooth works well and Apple Music (thru HEOS) streams CD quality audio flawlessly. There are a LOT of features I have not yet explored and some of those capabilities appear difficult to engage so I'm rating "ease of use" four stars. Otherwise, I'm very happy. . .

I don't mind refurb, because I think they are as good if not better because when they get fixed they also verify everything else as well. Also, with a refurb you get a discount product. Not sure I would have purchased it otherwise. From an operation standpoint, I love the power this receiver puts out along with all the options for bluetooth streaming and the UI for speaker set up is amazing.

Great receiver. Took me a little time to figure out configuration but once I did I can honestly say the audio reproduction feom this unit is excellent. I was hearing subtlies in music I had never heard before. Plenty of power for a small to medium sized room.

Purchased this unit as a reconditioned unit. It looked and worked like new. Also saved 25 % off to. Couldn't pass that deal. up. Upgraded from my Harman Kardon AVR 635 with has alot of horse power. Wanted to get a new receiver wi5h it least the same amps or more for better sound. I do notice that the music does play clearly better than my old AVR receiver. Bluetooth is amazing. I can receive Any music from around the world in seconds.

I had the Onkyo RX-NR6050 from Costco for just over a year. It has all the connections I needed, but had lots of issues with sound sync over HDMI. I finally returned it when this Denon went on sale. The Denon sounds much better overall. Center channel clarity is greatly improved over the Onkyo. The only 2 drawbacks to this Denon are that there is no 12v trigger, and the Zone 2 output only outputs certain digital sources if Zone 1 is also set to that source. I found a way to get the front USB port power to go off with the unit, so using that for the trigger. But, it also turns off the network access when in standby. The Zone 2 issue may be a problem down the road, but I end up using my dozen Echo devices more for multiroom music these days. It would be great if I could add the Denon to a speaker group in Alexa, but that is not possible. So, I use an Echo link to incorporate external amps for my outdoor speakers.
