The Dome shoulder pad works well with my Domke F-803 camera bag, making the weight feel much lighter. This is the third one I?ve purchased in 25 years. The other two lasted 25 years, so the new one will last me a long time too.

I waited a long time for this item. It was back ordered for months. It seems worth the wait. It helps weight distribution of heavy camera bags over the shoulder. I have a large Domke bag holding my Nikon DSLR and an assortment of fast (and heavy) lenses and accessories. The velcro attaches easily to the bag's strap. The shoulder pad itself is tapered across the width so it keeps it level on the shoulder which helps eliminate sliding off the shoulder.

Have several of these for my multiple camera bags. Velcro would make swapping easy, but for the cost multiple pads is the best option. Even with a lot of equipment in the bag it is a comfortable carry. Just have to remember that the slope on the Pad is on the outside of the shoulder.

I use this with my Domke shoulder bag, and it really does make a difference. The padding is beveled so it sits on my shoulder better, and it wide enough to keep the strap from digging in.

I use with a Domke bag and it helps spread the weight of the bag. I plan to try it on a camera strap for my heavier camera/lens combinations.

My gear is quite heavy, so messenger bags tend to make my shoulder ache after a couple of hours. I use a Crumpler 6MDH and a Billingham Hadley Pro with the Billingham pad, both have the same problem. I bought this to try since it was relatively cheap, at least cheaper than not using my bags or selling them. It helps a lot. The wedge shape means the weight of the bag is better distributed across the width of the pad, and means it will not slip. Unfortunately, with the Billingham, this pad is ugly. Very ugly. If Domke had just made it completely black, or even tan/brown leather, it would look so much better. Also, mine seems to have a lot of excess glue where the velcro straps are attached to the pad, which is a bit disconcerting as regards build quality. The packaging of the pad was also opened when I got it at Adorama, which is not Domke's fault so no stars knocked off the product for that. I was in a hurry and couldn't be bothered asking for a sealed one. It is a bit of a disappointment however, that I was handed what is effectively an open box item at the store, face to face.

I bought this for a Brooklyn Industries bag that came with no shoulder padding. The strap was made like a seatbelt, and so it slid along my shoulder very easily. I needed a shoulder pad that would accommodate the width of the strap and that you could secure to the strap w/o removing it. When I first received the pad, i thought it might be too 'substantial' for my uses: it's easy to understand why this design is used by mail carriers. But I find that it's not too heavy (so far), well padded (maybe too much?), and the wedge-shape really helps keep the bag level when I walk around, and thus, it doesn't tend to swing against my hip or side, rather, stays evenly parallel to my body as I carry. I guess if i could, I'd have chosen a thinner, slightly smaller version of this, but this will do just fine.

Really helps save my shoulder on those days I just have to lug too much gear around.

Great Item! Domke quality throughout! I now have one for my briefcase as well. Great for travel, adds tremendous stability and end the slip and slide at inopportune moments. As usual Adorama had the best price & shipping was fast and cheap!

I received this as a gift to go along with my Domke bag. Very comfortable strap. Pleasantly surprised by the quality for the price.

If you have ever been looking for a should strap pad that actually works, look no further. I installed the pad on one of my Domke bags and walked around all day with it. It was supremely comfortable and never slipped once. The secret is the bevelling of the pad itself with one side being thicker that the other. It naturally follows the slope of the shoulders and thus keeps the strap level. After trying it, I just bought three more for all my other bags!

I use this with a Domke F-2B. Cushions the load and minimizes slipping off the shoulder.

It can stay on your shoulder in any situation, but it should be made in different color to match the color of the bag. It soft and flexible but easy to have some minute tare on the padding surface.

Purchased with F-2 bag. Used for a weekend with a 40D, flash, 4 lenses and accessories and strap kept the comfort level tolerable while walking around.

I have owned many Domke bags, but until I purchased this item I wasn't fully satisfied with the Domke strap. This shoulder pad has a wedged foam cushion that locks the strap (and the bag) to my shoulder. With out the shoulder pad the strap would often roll off my shoulder. Great improvement for a very good bag.

I'm amazed at how this distributes the load of a heavy camera bag. I've suffered with shoulder pain for years from straps digging in and this solved the problem. It works whether I carry the bag over one shoulder, or messenger style with the strap crossing my body. I wish I'd had this 15 years ago. It would have saved me a lot of pain.

The best shoulder pad you can buy. Ergonomically designed and constructed of comfortable, thick foam rubber permanently mounted to a tough leather backing. Identical to the indestructible shoulder pad used by letter carriers, with the convenient addition of Velcro tabs that adjust to accommodate straps up to 2.75" wide.
