I got turned onto Elinchrom after seeing Joe McNally use them during a workshop. After many years as a military photojournalist I have had much experience of being rough and tough on gear. This kit is by far one of the best lighting systems around. A price that blows any Profoto set up away with very comparable output I am a constant fan. It also amazes me when I see guys walking aqround with Profoto lights with Elinchrom boxes, diffusers, octabanks, etc. Anybody can see for themselves at my website for perfect examples of how great these lights work. I always use them and will continue to! Ansarov

So glad I made the move to the Ranger. Tons and tons of power. Very useful when shooting in the afternoon sun. Love how easy the system is to use. Very accurate light output. Not as heavy as I thought it would be. So far...very pleased with the system. Not a big fan of how the speedring attaches but this is very minor. All in all... I can see me buying another Ranger in the near future.

Let me preface this by saying I love Elinchrom lights. I own a bunch of them and have been very happy for the most part. The Ranger is no exception. It works great no matter the circumstances. I've had it on a boat getting splashed by water, on a cliff and all over the city. It has never failed me. It's powerful enough to shoot into the sun and can be stopped down enough to add just a hint of light. The one complaint I have, and this is true for most of the Elinchrom products I have used, is that there are little things that don't work right. For instance on my ranger kit the LED has never worked properly. The battery drawer doesn't click into place so the light shuts off if you pick up the pack and move it during the shoot. I'm sending it back for a warranty repair - customer service is great - but it's costing me shipping and rush charges. Regardless, I'm planning on adding a second one to my arsenal as soon as I have the opportunity.

Complete portable power without the need for generators, AC outlets, or long extension cables. The Ranger RX Speed 'AS' features a "go anywhere" weather resistant design, self sealing rubber protectors, raised sockets complete with covers, with electronics only in the upper part of the unit. Similar to the new Ranger RX, the Ranger RX Speed AS offers assymetrical power distribution, shorter recycling time, and remote control via hand held remote orcomputer.
Ideal for sports, fashion, and portrait photography, the Ranger RX Speed AS offers up to 250 full power flashes or 5,100 at low power from one full battery charge. Battery recharge time is approx. 3 hours.
Light in weight, superb light quality, consistency, dependability, and loaded with features describes the new Ranger RX Speed AS .
This totally portable battery-powered pack and head system weighs 17 lbs (with battery) and punches out 1100Ws of power! The Ranger is limitless and knocks the socks off all other battery packs in performance, control, and affordability.
Two dedicated heads are also available for the Ranger RX Series: FreeLite S and FreeLite A. Following the same head designations as other flash heads in the Elinchrom family, the A Action heads provide ultra-fast flash duration, whereas the S Heads produce a Standard flash duration (considered extremely fast compared to other brand's flash heads).
Of course, an adapter cable (Order Code 11095) is available to use existing Elinchrom heads with the Ranger RX.
The entire range of Elinchrom accessories are also fully compatible with the Ranger RX without any need for adapters.
