Good value
Purchased this to be used on a softbox to concentrate the light on my subject. It fit well and have used it several times to make improvements in lighting when limiting the spread of light of the soft box.

Good quality, but not generic
This is a well made modifier. It's designed for the Flashpoint soft box and probably works great there since it has the correct mount and attachments for that purpose. I hoped to use it on other non Flashpoint softboxes though and it isn't going to do that. No fault of the product, I took a chance and it didn't work out.
FYI, this grid is a slip over, hooded design not a velcro to the inside of the soft box type. Size is perfect and I will make the mods necessary to use it given its super price compared to the one for my Lastolite box. Its a bit of work but nothing to hard. Buy it if you have the correct soft box and buy it if you are a DIY type that can make the mods to use it with any box, otherwise buy the right one for your application.

Does what its suppose to do
As more and more of my clients are looking to add some video to there promotions..... I needed to add some light control to some of my ancient hotlights
Strobes and video dont match :)
SO out come the hotlights - while softbokes are nice.... you need some accent lighting.... barndorns and focus beams work..... but i had a few 24x24 softboxes lying around and figured I'd see if this cheap egg crate would make them usefull to me......
TO my surpise, these little eggcrates do what they are suppose to do
IE they actually diffuse and focus the light
They velcroed on just fine to some 15 year old JTL softboxes....
So I'm pleased that those boxes gathering dust can now be used again
Now would I use these as a replacment to focus lights and or frensals, no..... but why not bring some new life to your old boxes

Perfect solution for creating soft light
I used this on a lastolight softbox and shot figure studies. The quality of light achieved was beautiful. Soft, natural light was created with the combination softbox and grid.
