Construction is very solid. Security for the quick release plate could be better There is no spring loaded security lock button.

I bought a 3 pod tripod to go with this ball head. It's size is a bit deceiving, I mounted my canon 7d with the 70 -300 L lens on it. The ball head moves smoothly and with out any shakes. I would recommend it .

This is quite a heavy duty piece for such a low price. It is tight and swivels smoothly. The attachment point will need a 3/8 -1/4 reducer (head to tripod) on some tripods and should have been included (I would have paid a bit more if necessary instead of having to order separately) but on others is not needed. The quick detach works fine but is not so quick as it has to be unscrewed rather far before lifting the camera out of the track. Once in though it is veru secure and is definitley not going anywhere.

This is the first ballhead I've ever owned but I must say it works as expected. I like the build-in levels this will be very helpful out in the field.

I'm using this on a Gorrilla pod, and I didn't want to spend huge dollars, but wanted something stable. This works well with my Nikon D610, and a 70-200mm 2.8 mounted.

Appears to be very well built. Sturdy. The arca-swiss compatible quick release is what I was looking for. The included quick release plate is a bonus.

Used for personal photography. Operates smoothly and reliably. One more thing to carry.

The H1 ballheadis the first in the family from 3POD heads with a wide variety ofphoto / video tripods and monopod solutions, and sports an anodized wear-resistant finish. A universal mounting pin in the ballhead's 1/4" international standard clamping quick release plate lets you attach most camera types with minimal adjustment required.
In line with all 3POD's signature ballheadgems, the H1 employs state-of the art ergonomic design, hydraulic damping for flawlessly smooth movement and jitter-free panning.
Four knobs located on the clamp and body of the ballhead control locking and positioning. The uppermost locks the quick release plate firmly in place, while the lower three control large-angle adjustment, small-angle adjustment, and horizontal adjustment of the ball mechanism.
At the base a convenient 360° dial makes for easy, perfect positioning throughout the ballhead's full range of panoramic movement, ideal for panoramic stitching projects.
