I bought this to replace a small non-TTL flash I had that broke. So far it works fine. I typically use it for close up/macro photos so it is plenty powerful enough for that. I haven't tried all the features yet but it works with TTL and it's easy to adust the manual power levels too.

Small, light work. Recharges reasonably fast. Seems to work adequately for general use. Not as consistent as units costing 20 times as much, but there again, my conditions were not particularly consistent. It's a very useful accessory, for a ($) camera that Canon forgot to include a flash in.

I purchased several other flash units for a specific project I was working on. And didn't see the Mini-Speedlight until late in the going. Turns out that was the only gizmo I really needed. It does everything I've asked it to do.

Nice and small, not especially powerful, but really useful if you have the extension cable.

Shot with a 7D mark II and had no problems at all. Use it mainly for fill in when shooting players as they pose for their FaceBook picture. Like the small size and easy enough to throw some extra AA batteries in the bag.

Fully manual or fully aromatic. Not sure what the usb connection is for... It did not communicate with my Mac so it might just be PC friendly

This is advertised as a TTL flash, but it does not work at all. All shots are way over exposed in TTL. I had to set my camera to sync at 180 and stop down to F14 to get a so so picture. My two Canons are perfect in TTL and I was very surprised at the poor performance.

Flashpoint TTL Mini Speedlite used with Nikon D800 Description: - low price, compact, hot-shoe-mounted, TTL compatible, accessory speedlight - basically, an alternative replacement for the Nikon SB-400 - uses two AA batteries - remembers previous settings - well-made (e.g. metal mounting foot, has locking pin) Pros vs. Nikon SB-400: - has manual mode with user selectable 1/128 to full power - has strobe mode with selectable # of flashes and strobe time - user adjustable power even in TTL mode - LED display shows camera and flash status - USB interface for future upgrades - comparable exposures compared to SB-400 - works with any other camera in manual or stroboscopic mode! Cons vs. Nikon SB-400: - no swivel flash - slightly larger - slightly heavier - over-exposure in TTL mode (however, globally correctable in my case by setting -2.0 compensation for TTL mode) Issues: - I was not able to get this flash to expose properly with my Nikon P7700 in TTL mode (note: the SB-400 works splendidly with this same camera)

The only reason that I gave this a 4 star vs. a 5 star is because I'm not convinced the TTL is spot on, but at this price point, I am still satisfied. It's nice to have a hotshoe style speedlite that is so compact, so lightweight and has both TTL and Manual features. I did several test shots with it in both TTL and Manual and got good exposures 15ft. away on f/11. It has enough power in a small package for most candid type shooting. I plan to use the flash as an extra one to have in my bag because sometimes having a flash as a go to is better than no flash at all. I purchased it mainly because of the price point, the size/weight and that it had TTL as well as manual. I am very pleased with my initial images.

All that I need

The Flashpoint TTL Mini Speedlite for Canon is an extra small dedicated AA battery operated automatic ETTL and manual shoe mount flash that is perfectly suited to act your 'always ready to go' camera companion. TTL Mini acts as a single light source, a fill light to natural or artificial source lighting, a synchro-sunlight device, or even as a trigger to fire remote flashes. This model can also fire at repetitive stroboscopic sequences with thermal protection.
The setting for exposure is entirely and accurately controlled by the camera through the standard TTL dialog and FEC testing. Results are highly uniform compared to automatic flash systems that use optical sensors to regulate output to the demands of the scene photographed. In manual, the flash consistently delivers 22 levels of light from 1/128 to full power - no matter the subject or situation - where amount of light that reaches the camera is controlled by aperture or distance from subject. The power output is maxed at a guide number of 45 at ISO 100. That provides a f/9.0 at 10 feet at a standard 400 ISO rating.
With this 5 ounce lightweight economical hero atop your camera, you can accomplish flash solutions where you might have left a heavier flash behind! One set of AA's, alkaline or rechargeable Ni-MH, provide 100-1500 flashes with a modest recycle time of 6 seconds at full power.
Every camera bag needs a TTL Mini Speedlite for Canon to be its light companion.
