Jacobo M : I have this iM20 flash and my camera dont recognize the flash so i need to manually change my wb to flash and the ss correctly if before attaching the flash i was on a high ss.  This is because the universal hot shoe or my flash or camera aren’t working correctly?Brands@ A : A manual flash, because it only has a single pin in the hotshoe, will not "communicate" with the camera, except to fire.... the camera doesn't "know" that it is there... you will not have TTL, HSS, AF assist, etc... ALSO Many mirrorless camera's turn off exposure simulation/preview when a hotshoe flash is added, since they assume the flash will add your light/color, and you want the screen for focus and composition. (Imagine if you did a shot at 1/160 F/11, and the exposure would be black... except you are adding 4 strobes!!! a black screen doesn't help you! you cant see focus, composition, etc!) A manual flash like this wont have this affect (because the camera doesn't know its there) so you might want to manually turn off "exposure simulation/preview"
