MARJORIE G : is this compatible with a 2.0 usb?RICHARD S : yes, it works fineSTEVEN S : Yes, it is backward compatible with a 2.0 USB.TAO L : I think so. However, it is a wast to use this drive through a USB 2.0 port.PAUL S : The SanDisk Extreme USB 3.0 CZ80, 64GB Flash Drive is awesome!!!BRYAN W : Yes, it is backwards compatible to USB 2.0. However, it doesn't really seem to be all that much faster than others when on 2.0TACK F : Yes, it is compatible with a 2.0 usbDAVID A : Yes. I have used this device with a computer that only has USB 2.0 ports. It works fine.XIANGYU L : Fast and reliable!
John D : is this flashdrive bootable? the latest version?XIANGYU L : No! it is not bootableJAROLD C : I am not totally sure about that. I believe any newer 2.0 or 3.0 flash drives are bootable as long as you format them to FAT32. You will lose any data of course, including Sandisk's Enctrypted program--which you can redownload it for free at Sandisk. I had an old PNY 4GB 2.0 flash drive that I was able to use to boot but couldn't use a 16GB 3.0. I read that some computers will not recognize bootable flash drives larger than 8GB. You might want to check with Sandisk's customer support. They were good to answer my questions by e-mail. I see $27.95 is a heck of a buy. Best wishes.JOSEPH S : I personally haven't. I use it for my work computer as a ReadyBoost cache. It loads programs faster so I can tell that much at least. My experience with drives is: fast and slow drives can be bootable as long as you have the right software to make it bootable (I have a useless Sandisk Cruzer with <1MBps if I'm lucky) drive to have a bootable recovery available externally. So even slow drives will be ok Latest version, I can't comment on. I have the early(ier) edition if that helps and have no complaints either. For $28, I would bite if I needed another one
Shopper : Is this flashdrive bootable? and the latest version?Neil K : It depends upon your computer or OS specs. Check which media can be used as an external boot disk.TACK F : Yes. I was able to install Windows 8 on it.ROB G : Bootable with what? It can boot a Mac with Mavericks. YMMV.

A welcome addition to my storage media.

SanDisk has proven itself to me over the years to provide high-quality, reliable memory storage products that always do exactly what they're intended to do. No exception here. This memory stick is attractive, easy to format (for Macintosh use), and very fast. The 64 GB capacity is nice to have for compact carry-anywhere storage media.

Great password encrypted storage

I bought this to store all my personal data, ie passwords. Setting up the software for password and encryption was straight forward and the stored data is easy to access.

Reliable and fast

My digital mixing console is fussy about which drives it will accept and this one was recommended to me. It works perfectly and is fast. Very happy indeed - good price too.

Fast enough to run apps on.

This drive is blindingly fast. I use it to run apps from when at work. Docking a star due to the fragile nature of the plastic body. I don't trust this thing on my keychain, which is unfortunate.

Lightening fast drive. I wish it was more rugged, however.

Fast Transfer Speeds

I ran this drive through the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test using a MacBook Pro Retina 15". I'm getting consistent write speeds of 145 MB/s and read speeds of 195 MB/s. It is definitely fast enough that I use it as a boot drive so I can run disk maintenance software on the HD of my MacBook Pro. The only con I can think of is the width of the housing. It is slightly wider than a standard USB cable male end. If your ports are really close together, you may not be able to plug multiple items in along side of it.

Great storage speed

I purchased this unit to quickly store large document (archives)scans. It has worked very well. It also seems to work well as Windows extra computer memory. So far, no problems at all.

This flash drive is powerful. It's large capacity, coupled with the USB 3.0 connection speed, makes it ideal to back up my laptop. I love it!

Excellent flash drive

Hard-wearing; narrow-body (it is critical where the ports are located close). Cord is not included (there is an opening in the housing for it).

Great USB 3 Flash

Beware! This one is 190mbs, while many others that say they are USB3 are only 45mbs. USB3 alone does not necessarily mean fast, and often price is no indicator of speed either.
