Questions & Answers

Freddie F : Can this be used with the RX10iv?MARKUS M : Yes, it is compatible.
Shopper : how well is this suited for use on a7rii and a7riii bodies with battery grips attached?Ronald M : Great help. I took off the plate that screws into the tripod socket and run the bottom through the lug on the battery grip. I find it gives me confidence on not dropping the camera.KENNETH D : I use it on the a9 and a7riii without the battery grip and it works well. Have not tried it with the grip though I have one. I found that even after a long day of shooting at an airshow with the a9 that the battery life was sufficient without the grip (but I always have at least one spare battery).
Jesus P : Hi there: Can this be used also with a neck strap ? ThanksWALLACE P : Yes, the hand grip contains a two-ended metal strap holder through which one end of the neck strap could be threaded. The other end of the neck strap attaches to the camera as usual. However, I probably will not use both together due to the time it takes to re-thread a neck strap to camera body, whenever I want I use the camera on a tripod. Remember, the Leather Hand Grip uses the camera's tripod socket. WallyBOB M : Yes it can, I only use my neckstrap about 10% of the time but I always have it on my camera just in case I need it! So that means I use my grip 90%, I love it!ERIK D : Yes, It can. There is a metal buckle that allows both to be attached at the sale time. I works well on mine. I have rather large hands and this strap did not work for me until I had the vertical battery grip on the camera. You results may be different depending on how large your hands are and how tight you want the strap. ErikJERRY T : Yes it can; the hand grip comes with a piece were you can loop your neck strapFREDDY O : Not really it only fits the hand strap. By the way I like it a lot since I change it I stop using the other strap. Also you can attached the tripod without removing the hand strap. It's adjustable and you can add the extra battery attachment too. I find out that it turns uncomfortable when you add the flash it turns too heavy for the wrist. I hope this will help you. I think that the price is right and recommend this product. (Genuine Sony)ROBERT J : Yes, the grip CAN be used with a neck strap and it is my preferred way of using it. The cameria is around my neck and I hold the camera with my right hand through the grip. It's convenient; the camera is held firmly and I'm really glad I purchased the grip! R Jacobs, Los AngelesDAVID D : Cameron, if this strap interferes with the battery door, you have the strap too tight. Try loosening the strap.DAVID D : Yes! It comes with a buckle of sorts that allows you to also use a neck strap.GARY B : Yes you can.GERARD J : Yes you can still use it with a neck strap and tripod.CAMERON H : Nope, not at all long enough to even try it. It works great and excellent quality, but it is a bit expensive for a grip belt. Also, it does get in the way of the battery/memory door at little, but not enough that you have to unscrew the bottom.

Excellent Hand Grip for your DSLR, Very Strong and firmly allows a good safe grip. Does not interfer with camera buttons.

Very good and sturdy leather grip for safely holding your camera with one hand. Holds firmly enough even if you open your hand, will not let go. I frequently like to shool without a strap hanginf around my neck. Connects to the camera firmly attached to the tripod connection and to the side of the camera forming a solid glove like fit. I frequently move around a lot and like to be ready for those sudden moment shots. I highly recommend this grip. Should fit most hands, small or large. Great value. I will definitely order another if neede.

Grip straps are a great way to hold onto your camera

Have always used one. I like the type that uses the camera lugs, not the tripod socket. This uses either. Highly recommended.

Perfect Camera Hand Grip

I've been looking for a good grip; I looked at several choices and decided to go with this one. It was a great choice! I use it with a Nikon D800 w/battery grip. Fits perfectly. Even though it is a Sony product it will fit many DSLRs. It is a little more pricey than some of the other brands but the quality is excellent; leather cushion, high quality attachment parts, easy to attach, no need to remove grip to attach the camera to a tripod, does not block access to the memory cards. Bottom line, you won't go wrong...wish I had purchased it sooner.

A Vital Security Addition To The A99 Vertical Grip

I learned the value of a well-engineered hand grip on my advanced Sony HD camcorder. One related to the STP-GB1AM comes installed standard on the HDR-FX1000. I use it whenever the camcorder is not secured on a tripod. Once I got the cryptic STP-GB1AM strap connected and adjusted properly to the A99 vertical grip, it gave me the confidence to use the robust camera, heavy lens, and flash unit combination (when coupled to the vertical grip) without being tethered to a neck strap - achieving more creative freedom. I suspect that it might work just as well on the A77 vertical grip (which I do not yet own as an accessory). Well worth the extra expense and minor installation hassle when considered as a cheap form of "accident insurance" for premium SONY camera equipment.

Works like a charm

No more camera clanking off my chest, getting in the way and bumping into everything. Don't have to remove when attaching a tripod, and doesn't get in the way when shooting with the tripod. Nice!

Vertical Grip must have!

I have actually attached 2 Sony STP-GB1AM Genuine Leather Grip Belts to my Sony A77: one for vertical shooting and the other for landscape shooting. The supplied metal buckle allows for attachment of both, and since I use both orientations in shooting, I think that both are a must.

A different way to hold your camera.

If you ever had to lug around a camera and long lens on a skinny strap around your neck in a crowded place or where you make some quick movements, then you know the frustration of a swinging camera that gets damaged quickly. Try using this hand strap, it is far more comfotable and easy to use. Yes, your camera is constantly in your hand BUT it isn't swinging around trying to find a solid object to kiss, and no neck chaff, sweat, or strain! It is more secure in the hand so no one can grab it and choke you. One thing I did do is attach a quick release to the top attachment point and I can switch from a neck strap to hand hold in seconds, or remove for tripod use. The bottom connection threads into the tripod hole, and has tripod mount if you want to leave it on. I have one on both of my full size DSLR bodies and leave it attached all the time. It does help in keeping the camera stable, too.

Fits like a glove...

The strap works like a strap on a camcorder. I did not use the screw in attachment provided because it wasn't positioned well. I attached it to the camera on top and extended grip on the bottom. Expensive, but I like that I can not worry about dropping the camera when I'm swinging my arm. I did have to mess around with the length adjustment. It was too loose, then too tight and I'm sure it will need to be adjusted through use.

Wise Choice

Leather Grip provides that security blanket knowing that you have your camera firm in hand. I use on both my Sony Alfa's 850 and A77.

Different way to carry the camera.

Instead of hanging a camera around your neck, using this hand strap can take the weight off of your neck. It makes it quick to grab the camera and run, keeps it more stable when using one hand and keeps it from bouncing around. What it needs is a quick release system (I added my own to it) so that you can switch between neck strap and hand held.

Now more secure with this product!

Without this grip, I felt so uneasy holding my Sony A200. I always felt like I would drop it. Now with the grip, I'm not scared any longer. Its very secure and comfortable.

"A handy item for your camera"

A great accesory to have for your camera. Keeps it securly in your hand, no nagging neck strap that dangles and swings the camera round. Adjustable to any size grip and can be used on any DSLR/SLR 35MM camera. Only two draw backs: pricey, and should come with quick releases (for the price). Otherwise, well made, comfortable, I would recommend it to those who don't want to look like a tourest with a camera dangeling around their neck on vacation.

Favorite Strap

It is a bit expensive, but you do get what you pay for. The leather and nylon are top notch, which is good knowing that it wont break under the a850 weight. Inside padding is soft and I like that the excess strap can be tucked in to the padding and concealed. Very well thought out piece.
