Solid build and quality glass that brings all of the gorgeous light coming through your medium format lens down to fit your sensor size. This effectively gives you an extra stop of light (why wouldn't you want that??) and reduces the focal distance by .7

I have the Pentax 645 55mm, 120mm and 150mm. 55mm can not focus to infinity. 120mm and 150mm can. 120mm is a macro lens. It will causes pretty serious vignetting on the close end with his speed booster. The quality and bokeh are good and it does produce a medium format feel if you do not mind the issues mentioned above.

This is an incredible focal reducer but not without it's problems. First the good. I use it on a Sony A7, A7s II and A7r II all with great results with limitations. If you are doing product shots or filmmaking it is incredible. You get a faux arri alexa 65 look. The effective sensor size is 53mm x 40mm using this adapter. So the shots look amazing. You get the incredible bokeh and fall off you expect from medum format as well as that 3d pop and image seperation from the background. So you get a 65mm look in 4k for very little money. The bad. Like another review stated. Infinity focus is an issue on some lenses. Also one other negative is when you are focusing the lens if you turn it too far, it will start to come off of the adapter. If you use a follow focus this will not be an issue. But if you are doing run and gun and focusing by hand. It is a pain sometimes. They need to put some kind of locking mechanism in it. To keep the lens firmly attached to the front of the adapter. It's not perfect. But you can not get the 65mm film look for so little money without this adapter. I am buying the Hasselblad one next.

Great adapter for most P645 lenses. If you plan on using it with any of the newer p645 HD lenses you are out of luck though because of the lack of aperture ring. The 55mm wouldn't even attach to use wide open. For those reasons I am returning mine but otherwise it works well for all of the older glass.

The Kipon focal reducer would NOT allow infinity focus with any of my Mamiya lenses (24, 35, & 150mm). I cannot recommend this lens adapter unless they can fix this fault. Infinity focus is very important to any landscape photographer! So far the Kipon USA web site has not answered my complaint. My camera is a Sony A7.

KIPON. Adapting by Design.
Kipon Baveyes Ultra 0.7x Adapter for Mamiya 645 Medium Format Lens to Sony NEX Camera is a Hight Quality optical adapter witch allowes a Mamiya 645 Medium formet lens to mount onto a Sony NEX Camera body. The 0.7x Optic adapter gets rid of crop factor, and increases the aperture.
PLEASE NOTE: With This Adapter although the lens will fit physically, auyomatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other functions will not work. you can shoot with maual mode with Sony NEX Cameras.
A simple Kipon lens adapter enables the use of camera and lens combinations from otherw ise incompatible systems with a secure connection between the camera and the lens.
More advanced Kipon lens adapters include electronic connections, enabling communication between the lens and the camera so that automated processes like exposure information and auto focus are carried out transparently.
The most advanced Kipon lens adapters features autofocus, auto exposure, aperture operation and relates all EXIF data to the camera body. The internal chip containing the adapter's firmware is USB upgradable so that the adapter will always be technically ready for action. Infinity focus is retained in this design, and manual focusing is possible.
Kipon produces a variety of designs in adaptation, imparting speed enhancements, automation reliability, including fine image control and, finally, bridges the world of DSLR lenses to SLT an dMirrorless cameras.
The World on a Tilt. And Shift.
KIPON Tilt and Shift Lens Mount Adapter mounts add significant features to ordinary optics to take advantage of the best of your fixed focal length lenses. Your favorite lenses easily fit, lock securely and perform just like they were Tilt and Shift lenses. Now you have enormous control over perspective, composition, depth of field and bokeh with silky smooth adjustable tilt and shift movement to add unique features to any suitable lens. There are no interfering glass elements to spoil the excellent optics.
The two movements can be precisely set so that the amount of effect is set to any point within the track range with locking mechanism to assure perfect alignment in use.
Kipon Baveyes Adapters. Gain a Stop. Widen Your Horizons.
Kipon Baveyes brand is an ingenious blend of many concepts. But foremost is the ability to use full frame SLR lenses on crop sensor camera bodies and mirrorless cameras, with a gain in lens speed. The transformation results in a 0.7x factor to the original lens focal length, conveniently compressing a full-frame image onto an APS-C sensor. At the same time, the adapter adds one f-stop of effective speed in the process, gaining faster shutter speeds at lower ISO's. A 50mm f1.4 lens becomes a 35mm f1.0, or high 800 ISO can shift down to a tighter 400. This allows you to use, for example, your sweet legacy full frame Leica R, Canon EF or Nikon F glass on your cameras like the Sony NEX or Fuji X camera without any loss in angle of view, with an extra stop of speed. Where does this all end Creating some amazing results from your choice lenses on all kinds of digital bodies.
Using the language of astrophysics, the phenomenon is called telecompression. A telecompressor, or focal reducer, is an optical group formula to reduce focal length, increase lens speed, and enhance MTF performance. By using a telecompressor element within a lens adapter, you can use the lenses of classic SLR's, while gaining a stop.
The innovative Kipon Baveyes auto focus adapters combine focal length transformation and lens speed boosting along with traditional lens/camera adaptation. Don't expect to turn your old Chevy into a hero Autobot, but you can make some pretty interesting, handsome and unique photoimaging combinations!
