I enjoy using these materials (the powder developer and fixer) and because I live on a small island in Alaska- the delivery over from NYC was a bumpy ride. One of the handful of bags I ordered was busted and spilled all over my entire order. But the delivery is so quick! I really can't complain too much.

This was my first developer, and it gives good, consistent results with just about any film. You can use stock solutions or dilutions such as 1+1 or 1+3 for some control of results. Its disadvantage, which isn't really much, is that you have to mix it up with pretty hot water, hotter than your tap probably puts out. Also, it goes bad in about six months, maybe less, unless you keep it in full, tightly stoppered bottles. So, unless you develop a lot of film, it will likely go bad before you use it up unless you use it full strength all the time or you keep it in progressively smaller bottles (or use the marble trick to keep the level up to the top of the bottle). However--this developer gives really good results, and may be all you ever need in a developer.

I loved the free shipping! That said, I'd have liked to be able to track the shipping process and the package was leaking a little powder when it arrived.

I am just starting to develop my own film. I have had good results so far with this developer. Still trying to get my timing down.

OK if you are reading this you already know all about D-76. It is a classic formula that has a great shelf life in a seal package. It can also handle nearly all popular B&W films. I use it 1:1 so to keep the working solution consistent but you can use any way you want to achieve the desired results.

One of the most versatile B&W developers ever produced, it yields very good results with every panchromatic film I have used. It's easy to use either full strength or diluted 1:1. Once mixed, it has very good shelf life if stored in completely filled amber glass bottles (or clear glass if stored away from light).

This is the gold standard of developers. Simple and foolproof. Follow the directions and mind your temperatures and you will have good solid negatives every time.

Been developing films since the 70s. Kodak chemicals have always been reliable. Have used other chemicals, but always came back to Kodak. They have never failed me.

About a table spoon of developer powder had leaked out of a puncture in on arrival. This leakage probably was not due to handling. It should have been noticed by quality control.

I needed this developer for a photography class at a community college. We normally use Sprint Cemistry but ran out and needed this in a hurry. Adorama shipped this out really quickly and the class was saved.

D-76 is the standard black and white developer. Works with just about any B&W film (except maybe high contrast microfilm and other unusual applications). Tri-X 400 mix 1+1 at 75 F. for 7:45 minutes. Really nice tones, contrast and grain. Simple to mix, just follow instructions. Lasts well in the bottle. If you are starting out, you can't go wrong with D-76 and you may never need to try anything else.

For general-purpose use with films such as Kodak T-MAX Professional, PLUS-X Pan, and TRI-x Pan Films; also for some spectroscopic films and plates. A favorite of pictorial photographers.
Yields full emulsion speed and maximum shadow detail with normal contrast. Moderately fine grain, excellent development latitude.
