1.4 converter

Everything I read on this converter before I bought it said it would work on the K-1 and it does function and operates the lens, but it is not a full frame format, your pictures will have a dark ring around the outer edges. I do not recomend this for the K-1, even though I have found no other options

This is not a full frame converter

Optimized for today's digital lenses, this converter is the only one that will give all DA lenses their full function on Pentax cameras.

Only game in town for Pentax APS-C users

I bought this to go with the 300mm telephoto, don't see that many other uses for it.

Great when paired with 300mm telelphoto

Solid all metal construction.  Works as described.  I like it because I have an old Tamron 70 - 300mm 'Macro' lens that becomes a 450mm lens on my K3.  When I add the converter it becomes a 630mm lens.  This makes it fun for wildlife shots.  The other thing I like is that the minimum focusing distance does not change and this makes it great for macro.  I do not see any difference with my photo quality when I use this converter.

Solid all metal construction

I have been using this for over an year now paired with the DA* 300/4. There is zero drop in image quality and autofocus speed, as if the two have been designed from the very beginning as parts of a 420/5.6 lens.
It performs very well with DFA 100/2.8 macro and even DA 50-135/2.8, but it really shines with the DA* 300/4. Based on a quick viewfinder check with a venerable MX film camera - I expect it to be compatible with the future FF camera.

Must have when shooting wildlife with a Pentax DSLR.  When use with the DA* 300mm f4 it provides an effective 420mm at f5.6. The actual 420mm focal length of the combination converter and DA*300mm f4 provides an effective crop factor equal to 630mm on APS-C Pentax cameras while providing very accurate autofocus.  Works with either SDM lens and in body screw drive focusing lens.
