Buy a macro lens instead. You would get equal results from a magnifying glass. Tried it once and it's been in a drawer ever since.

The plus 2 and plus 3 are handy to have with you when you are walking or hiking as the load will be lighter and less bulky. If you plan on using both the +2 and +3 together to double you the length of your cokin holder. Just so you know before you leave home. One more thing use it at home to adjust and don't use auto focus as you will be working close and auto focus gets confused when workig up close. The five star is because for a close up that isn't a macro is great. My hats off to the French.

This is not so much a filter as it is an add-on lens. The macro effect is great with no loss of light and having to adjust the f-stops; no compensation is necessary. There appears to be some softness around the edges. But used with a slight telephoto such as 85 to 100 mm, one will acquire optimum focus without distortion.

Under the umbrella of premium photography accessories, the P102 Close Up +2 Filter from the P-Series stands out as a remarkable tool for capturing intricate details. This isn't just a filter; it's an add-on lens that enhances your photography experience, particularly when focusing on small objects or close-up shots.
Ideal for coin and stamp collectors, nature enthusiasts who love capturing the delicate details of flowers or insects, and model makers who need to document their intricate work, this close-up filter brings your subjects to life. It's also a great companion for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy walking or hiking, as it adds minimal weight and bulk to your gear.
The P102 Close Up +2 Filter offers a macro effect without any loss of light or the need to adjust the f-stops, making it a user-friendly addition to your camera kit. It's designed to provide optimum focus without distortion when used with a slight telephoto, such as an 85 to 100mm lens.
Please note that while this filter can introduce some softness around the edges, it's a characteristic that can add a unique touch to your close-up photography. Also, when using the +2 and +3 filters together, remember to adjust your Cokin holder accordingly.
For best results, it's recommended to manually adjust the focus when working up close, as auto-focus can sometimes get confused in such scenarios. The P102 Close Up +2 Filter is a testament to the innovative design and quality that the French brand, Cokin, is renowned for in the world of photography.
In addition to the +2 Diopter (102), close-up filters are also available in +1 Diopter (101) and +3 Diopter (103) strengths, allowing you to choose the perfect tool for your specific needs.
