Specialty Lenses by Cambo
Cambo specialty lenses fall under two main categories: the WTSA and WRA Series, and the ACTAR Series.
WTSA and WRA Lenses by Cambo
WTSA lenses are built for use with digital backs. These lenses contain geared movement in two directions for precision perspective control and easier photo stitching for panoramas and large composite shots.
Unlike traditional tilt-shift lenses, WTSA and WRA Cambo lenses remain in the same physical position even when maneuvering the geared movements. This saves you from worrying about recomposing your shot when adjusting for perspective.
With the right adapter, you can use these specialty lenses on Phase One, Mamiya, Hasselblad, Contax, or Sinar digital backs. You can also use them on Cambo’s Wide RS technical cameras.
ACTUS Series Lenses by Cambo
These Cambo lenses combined with an ACTUS bellows system make it easy to turn your mirrorless or DSLR camera body into a compact-view camera. You’ll enjoy better perspective adjustment and creative control while transforming your high-resolution camera body into a digital back.
Many Cambo ACTAR lenses come permanently mounted to an Actus lens panel that connects directly to the bellows system.
Cambo Specialty Lenses vs Traditional Lenses
If you’re new to Cambo’s lenses and perspective photography systems, you should take note of the following information.
Cambo lenses feature fixed focal lengths and precise manual setting adjustments. While some lenses have wide maximum apertures of f/3.5 or f/4, many Cambo lenses offer an f/5.6 maximum aperture.
Some lenses have an internal shutter while others rely on your camera’s shutter. Also, for the best results when shooting with precision Cambo lenses, always use a tripod.
Accessories for Your Specialty Lenses
Specialty lenses by Cambo are incredibly unique, and you’ll achieve the best results with yours if you invest in a few accessories from Cambo.
When using the ACTUS lenses with your own mirrorless or DSLR camera, you’ll need an ACTUS bellows mount like the ACTUS-B MINI or the ACTUS REPRO. If you’re using a digital back with WTSA or WRA lenses, you’ll need an interface plate designed for your specific equipment.
