Leica is excellent equipment but expensive. New manufacturing techniques have eaten away at the handcrafted German advantage.

A poor design destined to be lost. Hard to get. The best thing about this is the Leica logo. And yet, the hood needs a lens cap. When I lose it again, I'll buy another one.

I believe the only problem with this item is that the Leica branding makes an otherwise mundane piece of plastic a bit over priced. But it fits like a glove.

It's just a lens cap. Works well to do cover the hood, but can also fall off quite easily.

I am a fastidious photographer who is very careful with my equipment. Nevertheless, this lens cap just drops off the lens and as a result I have had to purchase two replacements. Leica needs to redesign this cap so that it remains in place in most circumstances.
