It looked like a must have tool and I figured for under $20.00 I couldn't lose! I was right. It cuts precised 90 degree cuts with little effort. It works very well, the caution Mark makes about ensuring the blade is sharp is absolutely true. Wait too long to change the blade and you can get a tearing type of cut that requires a lot of effort to clean up. I also purchased a bulk package of extra blades, the five or six the cutter comes with will do maybe two large pictures. Expect to use a couple blades per picture, they are inexpensive and are just part of the cost for mounting on foam core.

Not Easy to Use

Very difficult to use. You have to press down and pull back at the same time. Another person nor I could use this cutter properly on a consistent basis. It is ten times easier just to get a good utility knife...it is much easier to use, much quicker, and a lot cheaper. Now I'm stuck with it and a bunch of extra blades.

Good cutter

I have tried to cut foam board in the past with very poor results. As I watched a video of an Adorama team cut foam board with this cutter, I ordered one. After experimenting with the cutter I got fairly good results. But then, I noticed that the cutter had a special little ridge, and after some thought, I realized that the cutter fit perfectly with my #301 mat cutter. As I was going to cut 3/16" foam board, I had some difficulty getting it into the mat cutter. So I raised the guide up with 3/16" shims and now it works perfectly and I can't tell my cuts from a professional job.

Would buy again

We're using this in our store to cut posters and signs mounted on foam core. It works great and gives a good clean cut. Far better than using an exacto knife and gives a clean edge.

Great addition to tool kit!

Saw this in an instructional video - ordered immediately. No more angled cuts! Perfect 90degree cuts on the outer edges of my mats. Neat and precise cuts for backing for photographs too. Easy to use. A must for matting or mounting photographs.
