Questions & Answers

Shopper : Any idea where I could pick up a waist belt for this bag? I've searched and searched, but no luck. Thanks for any help you can provide.JOSE V : I bought mine at the Boda website for $10 (usually $30). It is to be used instead of the shoulder strap. I found myself not using the belt one. I only use the shoulder strap.
milo g : Sometimes when I'm not shooting, I take my puppy with me. Do you think she will fit in this bag? She's bigger than a teacup and smaller than a loaf of bread. Obviously I wouldn't zip the top closed. Thank you.WILLIAM M : You could fit her in there and still have room for another lens or twoJEFF S : Oh... it'll hold a whole basket of puppies.SAMUEL R : The size of the bag might be OK for the puppy (i love your description). However, the bag is very stiff which is good for our gear but I am not sure if the dog would be comfy. Even after a year of frequent use the bag is as stiff as the day I bought it. Nevertheless, i definitely endorse the bag for what it is made.JULIE S : Yes, with the inner velcro separators removed, something smaller than a loaf of bread would fit inside the bag. Obviously, I wouldn't put lenses or other camera equipment in the bag with the dog, and I wouldn't put lenses and other camera equipment in the bag after the dog was in there until after a thorough cleaning. Incidentally, I had to buy a separate shoulder strap to go over my Boda's strap because the original strap by itself was too stiff and uncomfortable. I got a cushy guitar strap cover. And now I like the bag very much and wear it all the time, pretty much every day.MICHAEL T : I actually use mine to carry my kitten sometimes. It's very handy because I can put treats in one of the pockets, my cellphone in another, my point and shoot in another (I'm always taking pictures of my kitten). All in all, I would say she really likes her trips in the boda bag.
Shopper : Wondering if this bag will fit one Nikon body, and maybe just 2 lenses?GIL L : I carry a Canon 5D Mark iii with a large 35 1.4 attached on one side and either a 85 1.4 or 70-200 f4 on the other side. If you have small prime lenses, you could probably fit 3-4 in total. I love how quickly I can change lenses now using this bag. My main complaint is the neck strap. It doesn't contour nicely and your neck feels it after a long day. MICHAEL T : I think it would depend upon your lenses. I've got a 70-200 zoom, a 100 macro and an small led light in mine. If you have two longer lenses than probably not, but I would think a couple of shorter lenses and a body would fit. The bag comes with a vertical divider and a couple of horizontal dividers. It's a really nice bag, particularly for 75.00. I find the north/south orientation very convenient. The additional pockets are great. I can actually fit a 20" lastolite reflector in the front pocket, the one above the boda logo pocket.ROBERT M : This bag is not designed to hold or carry a camera body. It is a "working bag". It is assumed you are carrying the camera and it is in use. This bag is designed to carry additional lenses, a speedlite or other gear and accessories you might need during a shoot. I love it for its intended purpose. It is a bag to work out of not transport and store your camera and gear. If you buy it for what it is, you will not be disappointed. Hope that helps.JOHN H : I've placed a D700 or D800 with a 24-70 with hood attached inside and another lens on the other side and zipped it up. It's a tight fit, but it can be done.SAMUEL R : I have not used my Boda bag to carry a body but considering that I carry a Canon 70-200 f2.8, a 24-70, a 50, a 100 macro lens, a 1.4X extender, a variable ND and a polarizer filters in their respective cases, a Hoodman Loop, and assorted other accessories I think you would be able to carry a body and a couple of lenses. I could carry my 5D Mark III with a grip easily if I got rid of some of the other stuff but that is not why I bought the caseThe case is amazingly versatile. The only thing I wish I had purchased is the optional belt. Carrying mine loaded as I described can be a load on your shoulder. I hope this helps.JEFF B : This is a work out of bag and easily holds a 70-200 2.8 as well as a two additional lenses. I shoot a Nikon D3S and D300.DANIEL C : I all depends on the size of the camera. I use Canon 5d mark ii so i am familiar with Nikon . We do not carry cameras in the bag , just lenses.JEFF S : A body will fit as long as it doesn't have a battery grip, along with 2 lenses.

AWESOME bag!!!

I've used the product for a couple of events, where I needed to have extra lenses, but didn't want to bring a rolling case, and I feel that for a beach wedding, for example, it will come in extra handy. I especially like having so many pockets and places for storing things!

Camera Bag Junkie

I own a number of Think Tank Photo bags from their Airport International V2.0, the Urban Disguise 60, the Street Walker Pro and the Sling-o-matic 30. I love all of those bags, they are some of the best bags for transporting a lot of gear, but I wanted a smaller compact bag for use during a shoot that wasn't as large. I tried the Boda V3 Lens bag and was instantly impressed by the build quality. Its seems ridged and able to protect the few lenses I want to bring along to a smaller shoot. Despite its small look, it carries a TON of gear. I shoot Canon and I was able to fit my 70-200 2.8 IS II, my 24-70 2.8 II, 50 1.4 and my 85 1.2 all in main bag as well as a 600ex-rt in the side pouch (doesn't fit perfectly but you make do). You have a camera, lens and flash in your hand for shooting already while shooting which means you have a pretty versatile kit for any situation. If you want to use it to pack away a camera body, make sure your camera fits. I tried both the 5DmkIII w/grip and 1Dx and neither would fit. If you too loose the grip or shoot a smaller camera body it would probably fit no problem. It has a couple of what seem like very purpose built compartments, which is neither good nor bad I guess. In the front there is a memory card wallet type pouch which for me does not seem the most practical. I use Pixel Pocket Rockets and like that I don't have to fumble around the front of the bag to see which card is used or not (there is a tab to help you see this but its not as convenient as a small card wallet.) That said, the pocket directly above this is the perfect size for a couple of Pixel Pocket Rockets or battery cases. It is a small, ridged, also seemingly purpose built pocket. I suppose its built for you to keep your keys, cell phone, business cards, external HDD or other small gadgets. One really nice feature is the built in lens cloth on the retractable tether. Its a nice addition and perfect companion to small shooters bag. Its other side pouches would also be perfect for a water bottle or filters if you wanted. I'm not a very tall guy, @5' 6" I find most camera bags sit too low on my waist and become uncomfortable after a short period of time. This bag seems to be a little better, It sits high enough that I don't feel like its banging on my knees if I start moving quickly (happens at weddings). Obviously this can be adjusted if you are a taller individual but I figured this is worth noting. All in all its a pretty nice bag, I'd recommend it.

Must have for on the go ON the job

I love my bag... but. The closures could be better. The lens area is great but the other compartments do not seem to be well protected or to close very securely. I have had difficulty getting the optional waist strap. The manufacturer doesn't sell directly anymore apparently and they direct you to Adorama... who doesn't have it available either. GET IT!

Very well made!

This is a great bag for holding a couple of lenses, and accessories on a location shoot. The bag is very well designed and manufactured. I also got the waist belt, and find it more comfortable for a long shoot.

A specialist in a world of generalists

This is a lens bag, not really a camera bag and it is important to realize this part. It is designed for a specific purpose, to make you change your camera lens fast, which is very important in certain situations.

what will fit?

can fit 20d w grip, 50f/1.4,85f/1.8,135f/2.0, 24-105f4.0 all with hoods, with limited filters in main pocket at same time. OR 20d w/grip,1 of the above lenses and a 70-200f2.8 w/hood. side pocket lg enough for a 580ex flash w/ difuser.Top ft pocket holdes a flash bracket. IMPORTANT both straps needed for comfort and stability when loaded. Boda does NOT offer this option, I added another set of clips to the bac and now can use both straps at same time, bulky bur very comfortable.

Boda V3 Lens Bag

This Bag is exactly what it say s it is...a great lens carrying bag. It sits nicely on the hip for easy access to change over your lens, add a flash , replace a memory card...or even to get a drink. Durable, weather proof and enough pockets to hold your gear needed during a days shoot. I've used it for a few weddings so far and have not been disappointed, the lens cleaner is a handy little addon. My friend tried mine and went and bought one the next week.

Just what I needed

Great addition to my bag collection and it is fast becoming a favorite. Lightweight but capable a carrying three lenses, my flash, PocketWizards, and all sorts of misc. equip. Just had it a short time but I know it will take quite a bit of abuse and keep on performing. Suggest you get the waist strap. I did not at the time I bought it and wish I had because it was on sale and now I have to pay full price.

Heavy Duty Well-Built Bag

I purchased this lens bag for my upcoming trip to the Florida Everglades. I had a decision to make regarding which bag to order - the larger one or its smaller brother. Wanting to not run out of room, I ordered the larger bag - but when it arrived I now see that the smaller one would probably have been better for my intended use. However, this is an excellent, heavy-duty, well constructed and very durable, though rather heavy, bag and I am keeping it. Because I am impressed with the excellent construction and features, I will probably also order the smaller one at a future date. Overall, I rate this as an excellent product and can recommend it highly.

Boda V3 lens bag

This is a great bag for a trip and definitely if you are on a photo shoot. It is not light but very well built and with the comfortable straps you, will not notice the weight of the bag. The lens I carry are the heavy items anyway and the bag really protects them. It is also water resistant and when you have as much money in lens as I Do it is a great investment. It was really designed for the pro-photographer. It can carry four lens and other misc items. Everything is easily accessible.

Love this bag!

I love this bag. Prior to using it I was always fumbling with trying to find my gear or leaving gear on the ground. The ease of use that this bag offers has not competitor on the market. Each lens/accessory has its place and I know exactly where it is. This bag allows me to focus on my clients and be the creative photographer that I love being. My gear no longer is a concern when I'm shooting.

Good but Small

It's a good "Lens" bag. I mistakenly thought I could throw a D700 body inside. That was not the case. It works well for a few lenses and some other small stuff. Great quality though.

Boda V3 Lens Bag

This bag is very heavy and bulky. The bag is made to fit Canon, but the 580 EXII is too big for the flash pocket and it falls out. The shoulder strap is hard and extremely uncomfortable as well. All around a big disappointment. [...]

A Must-Have Bag!

The Boda V3 bag is extremely useful! I have taken it hiking and on two photo shoots so far, and it is phenomenal as a carry bag for 3-4 lenses (Canon 50 mm 1.4; Tamron 17-50 2.8; Canon 70-200 2.8L IS w/hood reversed, Canon 28-135, and a Canon 40D-no lens attached.) When the bag is sitting over your shoulder, you can easily reach in and grab the lens you need to get the job done. The bag has plenty of space for memory cards, batteries, cell phone, and various cords. You can easily place a lady's wallet in the front pocket or a 6x7 journal/notebook. It's a little bulky but a must have if you want a working/carrier bag for your lenses. Only con so far: the water bottle pouch is in an awkward position--it's not very useful if you have something in the top pocket-however, I've used it as a pouch for chords and it works great!
