Big, fits everything, but BIG

No one will know you are carrying camera gear. That is a big plus for me. The bottom padded area holds a DSLR with zoom attached and a couple lenses and flash easily. I use it as a carry on it fits (barely) underneath an airline seat. Cons are it is heavy and big, the foam and frame of it do not shrink, so even when the thing is empty, it looks full size. I wish the build was a little less rigid so that it wouldn't puff out so much, but no one can complain that this bag won't protect their gear. It comes with a built in rain fly but rather than being located on the bottom of the bag (like EMS bags have) it is stored in on top of the laptop slot, so to get your computer out you have to work around the fly. This bag is great for going hiking with your camera, lenses, flash and tripod, but since it must be totally removed to access the geat, it is not great for use around town where you want to get to the gear quickly. I use it for travel and for everyday use carry a Lowepro Passport sling.

Great for camping or school

I've used this for classes as it has a laptop pocket and was glad to have my camera with me at the end of the year as so many occasions arose for the need. Also great for car camping trips. I was able to pack all I needed for day hikes. It has a great way of securely attaching a tripod but I discovered that my tripod is too heavy for me. The only thing I don't like is that the adjustable dividers do not have velcro on all sides and small items can slip between pockets. I love the belt for extra comfort but the net pocket on the right side is not deep enough to hold a water bottle

Love it!

Way more comfortable than the Lowepro that I used to own. The Borealis has excellent straps, nice suspension, is light, and it adjusts to fit. Lots of storage, and the lower compartment is well padded. Highly recommended!

Great day pack

I used the pack for our extended day hikes at Yosemite N.P. I was able to carry my essintial camera gear along with water, food and two jackets for the day. It fit so well that hiking all day was a breeze. I hardly knew I was carrying a pack. It would be nice though, if the mesh pocket was a little larger to carry a .75L water bottle. But clipping it on the strap wasn't an incovience.
