I really like the speed of the auto focus for my bird photography and facial recognition on people even a long distance away! I like the higher megapixels so that I can crop or pixel peak even up to 400%! Feels great in the hand, even tho a little heavier than my z6's. I should've just bought the Z8 instead of the Z6's esp. since I do a lot of bird photography.

Love my new Z8. Same great sensor as the Z9 but lighter and able to use the batteries from my D series cameras?as well as the pile of SD cards that I have.

After market Battery works find. 5 charges so far. So I save my Nikon ones at 80%. I have some little used 20 year old Nikon batteries which I keep in the cameras still rated as new. Using the flash as a slave with my 40 year old sensors although there is no swivel . Better idea is it lets the model know I am shooting with out effecting the photo due to the long distance. A pre flash is get ready with out any waving to bother others.

The products speak for themselves, all excellent. Adorama has been great to deal with, orders are easy to place and are filled quickly. They put together good bundles. The z8 has been everything I expected. Excellent ergonomics and features, beautiful camera.

Love this camera. I went from a D500 to the Z8. The difference in quality and range is amazing, night and day. Not heavy, smooth transition if you are coming from another Nikon camera. Great in low light and excellent if you're using it for wildlife and night photography. I highly recommend this camera.

My favorite Nikon yet! What a machine, it offers great flexibility at a great price for what it can do. This is the camera that got me excited about Nikon again and I bought it as soon as it came out. As a hybrid shooter this has opened new possibilities to my work, from shooting 8k to advanced zoom and internal recording at various formats this is the camera that will take you to the next place. Big enough to feel great in your hands while also having controls and the ability to customize them at your liking. I now made this into my A cam and my z6iii into my B cam. I also love the fact that it has a sensor curtain, when going to remote locations where the elements can get into you sensor this is crucial! I got a chance to travel to Antartica in 2021 with my z7 and z6 and got my sensors dirty... huge bummer to see so many great pictures ruined because of debris and no good way to do a proper cleaning. Lesson learned and I feature alone would have prevented that problem.

Best camera yet for my Bird Photography due to the auto focus system. Many more keepers over my Nikon D850 and D500. Tracking technology is magic. Battery has a shorter life however I just carry an extra battery...no problem.

I loved the first Z8 that I bought a 2nd one for my business. The quality of pictures and videos from this are amazing. Came from Z6 and Z6ii, which were good, but wow the Z8 is phenomenal!

I really like this camera and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a professional level camera. Good weight and good ergonomics. It is a little bit bigger than my Z7ii, but that is not an issue at all.

I have had the Z9 for awhile now. The camera is amazing. But the large size does sometime get in the way. I spend a lot of time on a kayak with my camera in a deck bag. The Z9 seems to be a smaller size. Auto focus is fantastic And much smaller size I see nothing except positive things with the Z*

Magnificent, wonderful and well-equipped is just a few of the things I can say about this camera. Since moving over to the Z-system from Sony I have found that the autofocus and ISO have been years beyond Sony. This camera does not disappoint, and the FPS (frames per second) is a definite upgrade from Sony.

Coming from a z7ii the z8 is phenomenal. While the z7 ii is no slouch the Z8 is faster to autofocus and can af in lower light which is amazing as the z7ii did a fantastic job. The image quality is virtually the same. For static images the z7ii and z8 are neck and neck. Add pixel shift shooting and all I can say is Wow!! For fast moving action and for when you must get that shot then the z8 is great. Still learning its features. For those concerned I'm keeping the Z7ii, not as backup but to supplement the z8

Nikon has again knocked it out of the park. The true successor to the D850. It's bigger and heavier than the Z7 but much more capable and easier to use coming from the D850. I love the button arrangement on the top left, the lighted buttons, and the sensor shield. Having a LCD screen that can flip out both horizontally and vertically is a big improvement.

I upgraded to the Z8 from my D700! Wow, sooo much more capability than I expected! I'm still very much in the exploratory/learning phase and I'm excited to explore all of the nuances and capabilities. The few photos I've shot have been exceptional! Looking forward to shooting much more this summer.

I just upgraded my D700 to the Z8! So far I love it, but I have not had time to configure it properly YET! Sooo much to learn! I am very excited to learn all about it and getting out and shooting some awesome photos... I'll post another review after I get acquainted with it. Have a great day!

I switched from Canon mirrorless and can say that this camera has met or exceeded all my expectations. The was a slight learning curve for the focusing system but after a few days of shooting with the Z8 my photos are great.

Coming from the d850 I loved so much, the z8 takes just a little getting used to and learning the new focusing system I had trouble using my sigma 60-600. I found myself manually focusing a lot! I did figure out what I was doing a little more every time But when my z180-600 came in! It was like heaven! I got amazing shots of birds coming straight at me which I could never do very well with my other cameras?. I love the combo! And the camera has so much more to offer which I'm learning everyday.

The Nikon Z8 is a stunning replacement for my D850--considered to be the best DSLR ever. The Z8 is a smaller, lighter camera that has a comprehensive list of improvements over any of the previous Nikon cameras I have owned. Other than a change in the memory cards it uses and the removal of the battery grip, the Z8 is a smaller Z9. Autofocus is just amazing, especially with firmware 2.0 installed. Live view is vastly improved over my D850, too. I could go on and on, but the combination of the Z8 and the Nikkor Z 24-120 f4 S lens helps me make sharper, more detailed photos and videos that still have that Nikon color rendition. Be prepared, though; the original EN-EL15 battery isn't compatible; only the EN-EL15a, EN-EL15b and the current EN-EL15c batteries will power the Z8.

I've owned the Z50, Z6, Z7, Z7II and I still have a ZFc. I've just purchased the Z8 and I'm very pleased with it's quality, speed and effortless ability to take photos and video. It brings out the best in my Nikon lenses and the broad ISO range and excellent VR allow me to handhold the camera at very slow shutter speeds. There's one thing I miss from my other cameras, and that is the dedicated lever to adjust the Modes during operation. I do like the return of the AF button on the front left of the camera - something I've missed since my D850 days. This camera is so capable and technically advanced, it can take the skill set of almost any photographer and make it better.

The Gear Evolves and the Learning Never Stops

Transitioned from the D850 to Z8, thought I would keep the 850 for a backup but after two weeks with the Z8 the 850 was not an option...it's like getting a new guitar that is amazing to play and all the other guitars are now just taking up space...the hardest adjustment to a mirrorless camera for me was not being able to compose a shot without turning on the camera...the battery life was a concern until talking to another pro who said he just turns off the camera between setups or as he cha...
