I'll update my review if anything changes, but after one shoot it seems to function well and be pretty sturdy.

I was looking for something that wouldn't break the bank and would be light enough and sturdy enough for my travel work. I am very pleased with this. It's even better than I had hoped for - and the price is right.

I use this kit for setting up a backdrop for portraiture. It has convertable bar pieces to allow for small and large paper roles. It gets the job done, and allows for easy dissassembly. If you don't have a studio with permanent wall hinges, this is a great set to unpack anywhere you need.

I use this product to hold my backdrops when taking portraits and still photos. I like it's durability and ease of set up and take down. I have no con's about this product at this time.

You can tell when you pull it out of the bag for the first time that this stand will be sturdy and last a while. My only gripe with it is that you can only shrink down the width to a 2 part width, rather than down to 1. This makes it challenging to fit in smaller areas as the legs are really wide as well. This may be overkill for a lot of people working in clients homes. I worked around this by drilling a second hole on one of the end lengths, so that it would work in a single length fashion, while still working with 2 and 3 section's when needed.

Purchased for a museum, so that we could make documentary photographs. Budget limitations pointed me toward this product. For our needs - occasional use - it should be fine, but for a more active photographer I would recommend a more durable background support.

this product is good for the price you pay but it is a little flimsy. I use this for child portraiture with muslin 10' x 12' backgrounds and a child can easily push the support stands over if you dont keep it out of the way. Overall though it holds up good if no one touches it and its great for those on a limited budget but again- u get what u pay for. the carrying case that it comes with is fantastic- i was also able to stick my tripod in there with plenty of extra room

This set is good for the quick and easy set-ups that don't require that much. I use it when I need something to set-up fast and with little space for a backdrop.

I was perusing [...] looking for a backdrop stand that I could take with me on location shoots. I needed something light weight, easy to set up/take down, and something I could maneuver around by myself. I read all the reviews about this product before I purchased it and decided to go ahead and get it. The price was great and the product turned out to be perfect. It is exactly what I was looking for! It is lightweight, easy to set up and tear down. It comes in 5 parts that go together very simply. The only negative I've found is that the cross bar is a little weak in that one cannot hang a whole roll of backdrop paper from it... it is simply too heavy. That is very simple to remedy though. All in all this is a fantastic product and I would buy from this retailer again.

This is a good lightweight outfit. I don't think I would put a roll of seamless paper on it as it isn't built for that much weight, but for hanging your typical 8x12 muslins it works great - just don't let your models try and do pull-ups on it. If you're setting up a home studio for portraits or product shooting, or if you need a lightweight portable setup for location work this one is hard to beat.

I purchased this product as a gift for a friend (we both avid photographers) and she loved it. It comes broken down in an easy access carry bag (she partically like that feature).

This is a great product for light and general use. PROS: Great budget backdrop stand. Works well with my 9x9, 10x10, and 10x20 backdrops as well as my paper rolls. The stand is light enough to be very portable and packs up easy. It is easy to assemble. CONS: It does have some setbacks. The lock nuts for each section break easily from over tightening and the stand is difficult to balance when working with heavier backdrops. Extra weight is needed on the bases in medium or heavier breezes. I have two of these and use them for all of my backgrounds. I have muslin, painted muslin, painted canvas, and rolled paper backgrounds which I use with these. A good value stand to get going or for light work.

It is what it is, a cheap backdrop stand. That being said, it does the job, and won't let you down. It's not the kind of set that you can beat up and still have it work, but if you're good to it, it will keep working. The construction is solid for the price, a bit more than I would have expected. I don't do that many photo shoots but so far it has gotten the job done. If you are new to the business then this is a good set to start with.

I love the size and portability of this product. Since I am an on location photographer...portability is huge for me. I can take this into many different environments / locations and with little effort have it completely set up in very little time! And...best of all I don't have a huge amount of money into it! It was priced to sell!

This is a light weight stand system that is almost perfect for my needs. The only down side is the width. I would like to see another extension bar so I could put a wider backdrop for group shots. Also the stands extend to 8 feet. I would have liked 10 feet better. All in all its a good travel set up but I would look for a stronger set for a dedicated studio set up. One more thing. I would not put a roll of paper on the bar. Leave your roll on the floor and attack the paper to the bar with clamps. I have been using muslin backdrops and have had no problems.

I use this to support my muslin backdrop material, in an outdoor environment with lite to moderate wind without a problem of tipping over. Easily set up and taken down. Stand bases are of sufficient width and configuration for stability. Extension clamps are more than adequate for maximum extension and the Carry Bag definitely holds all the product.

I already have one and had to have another. For the price it is unbeatable. I have a lot of backgrounds and they need to stay ironed. I use one to keep backgrounds that I may use for the shoot and I use the other stand as the primary for the background I am using. I use this in the studio and on location. I like to move around in the studio and this lets me do this without any problems. Also, a great tip, you can use both stands with a draped curtain on one and another background on the...
