Questions & Answers

JULIA C : Does this have the ability to be placed on a tripod? Or is this only a shoulder mount? I can't imagine that it is just a shoulder mount. But please adviseSUSANA C : All camcorders can placed on a tripod. All. Including this. VISION COMMUNIC L : Yes, very easily. We do it all the time. Standard holes for a tripod plate. We are happy with this camera.CHRIS W : Julia, yeah you can definitely place it on a tripod for stability. It is a great camera. I've had it for one year now and I've never been dissapointed.ANN C : Yes, it can be placed on a tripod.Edward V : Yes, there is a screw hole at the bottom for a quick release tripod plate. I use it all the time with a Manfrotto compact tripod (for weights of 9 lbs or less). Works great as I can also use it with my Nikon camera.KURT H : It has the standard 1/4-20 threaded mount. I use our on a tripod all the time. Great camera for the money.
Paul T : I am a legal videographer and was wondering if this camera displays the time code on screen while recording as I will be burning a dvd at the same time and need time/date stamp displayed on dvd?ADEOLU A : Sorry, it doesn't
Shopper : Re: Panasonic AG-AC7 What about converting the AVCHD into universally usable formats ?Edward V : I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 to edit the files natively. When ready to output, I have read that the Bluray H.264 preset is the best option. I experimented with different formats. H.264 was by far the best output.THOMAS L : Found this camera to be recognized by windows, vista, 7, pinnicle, and adobe. You can even use movie maker. Pinnicle works great and is cheaper than adobe premier. You can change and export in all formats, while movie maker is just wmv. which will compress to small files to upload to youtube. Pinnicle also lets you use multipule lines of video which movie maker does not. But adobe does it all! But cost the most. Great camera !!!!! Lighting is always the most relevent in any camera, low light is ok but learning what your equipment can do will make up for it. Great buy!JULIO G : the only inconvenience would be to import the files into your computer, once you've done that you have nothing to worry about because your files will be either MPEG-4 or WMV and those are pretty much universal formats...KURT H : The camera gives you .mts files that work fine in both Premiere CS5.5, and Vegas 11. You can also convert the files to whatever you want using any file converter of your choice. I use AS4YOU with good results. Hope that helps. Thanks, Kurt

I bought this form Adorama as a second camera to my Sony FX7. I have found that in good lighting the picture quality is very very close to the FX7. The zoom is great 23X, Image Stabilization is great, the manusl controls are easy to access and give you plenty of control, and battery lasts forever. I put a shotgun mike on it and the sound is good, no XLR's, but a beachtec adapter solves that. Low light is not bad, but I shoot those scenes with my Flashpoint led on-camera light so everything looks great. This is a great camera, it is hard to believe you can get this kind performance for the price. Just shot a wedding with this as the main camera and it turned out great.

The Panasonic AG-AC7 Shoulder-Mount AVCHD is Full HD camera that enables a truly professional style of operation. Professional projects require stable operation over long periods of time and manual control over the picture, with smooth adjustments. The AC7's shoulder-mount design, its relatively low power draw from the included long-life battery and selectable-bit-rate AVCHD recording to high-capacity SD/SDHC/SDXC cards all serve to facilitate long days of shooting events, weddings, news and anything else that requires you to be on the move, ready to shoot, camera on shoulder.

It's also perfect for houses of worship and educational institutions that teach manual settings and a professional style of camera operation. For ease in completing both SD and HD projects, the AG-AC7 camera features AVCHD recording at 1920 x 1080 and 720 x 480, both at 60i. The built-in 16.7x (optical) / 23x (Intelligent) zoom lens starts out nice and wide at 35.8mm (35mm equivalent), so indoor shooting does not become a challenge to see how deeply into the corner you can smash yourself.

With a large grip and zoom lever and a large, easy-to-hold manual focus ring, you've got accessible, precise controls and a zebra pattern assists you in setting exposure. In addition to extensive manual controls, there's also Intelligent Auto (IA) and Hybrid optical image stabilization, providing the high-tech help you need to ensure smooth, reliably crisp & clear capture of Full HD video.
