I didn't use this product because it did not work with my lenses. Nothing was great about it. Everything was not so great.

I have a 2.0 teleconverter and wanted a 1.4 that would work with autofocus. I am currently doing a lot of eagle photos. This works well for nest and perched photos, but not so well for flight photos. Still, I am satisfied with the product and its cost. I have seen other similar teleconverters for over 3 times the price that would not do much better.

It is a nice boost to my 50-500mm zoom I used for eagle photos. It is a bit to slow to autofocus for flight photos, but does good with perched photos. This teleconverter is a good value, compared to some I have seen that cost 4 times as much.

Took it to Yellowstone last Christmas and had just loads of problems. Totally unreliable through a very clean window. Outdoors, it focused accurately less than 25% of the time...and when it did it was brutally slow. Got a few good pictures of scenery, but forget the wildlife. For macro, warm, bright days it is as good as advertised. Would recommend only under those conditions, considering the price.

I haven't used this in a while, as I'd rather crop later than degrade the image by using a tele-converter on my zoom lenses. But it does work, and if you need the extra reach then this does deliver. It will NOT work on EF-S lenses, only on EF. So if you have a Canon 55-250 or other EF-S lens, it will NOT mount. There is no reason to give it a 1-Star review for this reason. My one minor complaint is that my copy makes a slight metallic noise when mounting it to my camera, so I'm afraid the mount is not perfectly identical to (not as smooth as) Canon's specifications, and I did receive occasional lens errors after using it, though those errors went away once I restarted the camera and have not returned since.

I only tried extender with 200mmL 2.8 on 1d MK II, just keeps searching and never focuses even in brightest outdoor day. Maybe i"ll play with other lenses before i throw it out. Or maybe this unit is just damaged.

I bought this tele-converter for use with my Canon T1I after reading generally positive reviews. A couple mentioned lens incompatability but not for standard lenses. [...] when I tried it, it fit fine to the camera body, but would not accept either of my Canon standard lenses (the kit lens 18-55 nor the 55-250 tele zoom).[...]

I love this converter. It has added greater range to my Canon 28-135mm lense. I can also use it with other lense I have which are several. If you have a mid range zoom and want to add greater distance w/o paying a king's ransom for a new lense this is your best choice.

The 1.4 teleconverter works great with the 75-300MM EF lense. The problem was that I wanted one to uswe with my 55-250MM EF-S IS lense. [...] I was very disappointed that I could not use my preferred lense.

I like it, but I dont extend my lens all the way out,and I find my photos are better and if doing long shots i find i need to tripod. Much cheaper than buying a 400 0r 800 lens

For the money this is an unbelievable buy. Using it with a Canon 28-300 IS it works seamlessly. I can't believe how great this.

Placed between the camera body and lens, a teleconverter contains a set of optics that will effectively increase the focal length of a lens by a factor of 1.4 times. Pro Optic converters are made with high quality multi coated optics and designed to electronically operate with the camera contacts.. Designed specifically to be used with prime or zoom lenses of 100mm or above. 1.4 will increase a 300mm into 420mm and will decrease the lens with 1 f/stop Focusing manually is recommended when using a lens with a f/stop of f4 or slower. Longer exposures will require a tripod for stabilization.
Does not work with EFS lenses.
