Mike L : Will this bracket work with a battery pack attached to my 50D?ISADORE H : Hi Mike I own the VH 2000 Stroboflip and shoot with a Nikon D700. The camera attach to the camera body toward the back of the mount for the flash cross bar. Consequently, the cross bar set over the lens when mount to the camera boby and is adjustible for large diameter lens and battery packs. I have extended the flash cross bar to its highest position permanently. You should experience no problem using this bracket with your 50D with battery pack attached.
Shopper : Will the Canon 5D Mark II work on this Stroboframe? Thank you.GEORGE G : Yes, that bracket would work. So would the other Stroboframe one called CameraFlip. I've used those for years. I think they're faster and better than the VH 2000. With the VH 2000 you have to do two things. You have to flip the camera and then flip the flash. With the CameraFlip you do one thing, flip the camera, the flash never moves. It's faster. Plus, since the flash sits up higher on the CameraFlip, you never have the problem of red eye. Hope this helps.CHRISTOPHER R : yes.ANDREW R : Theoretically this unit should work with the 5D Mark II, however the fit may be a little close and may make access to certain camera functions difficult.

It flips

I purchased this for a wedding that I would be in as well as shooting to alleviate having to hand hold my flash. What I found was it does easily rotate the flash (too easy). If you don't tighten it up it will just flop around and it is difficult to get the tension just right. I also found that for how I normally photograph the bracket just didn't get the flash away from the camera enough for my taste. I guess I like more dramatic lighting. I ended up ditching the stroboframe before the wedding began. I guess if you normally use a bracket and you want one that easily flips from vertical to horizontal position than this would be a good choice but if you are looking to get more directional lighting maybe this isn't for you.

short screw

Great product. The only small problem is that after installing the supplied cork cushion, the screw barely reaches into my 7D (or any camera). The screw is the right length if the cork is not used, but with the cork, the screw needs to be longer by about 3 mm.

Small units does the work of larger one

I think the guy that said he couldn't get his camera to fit with the battery pack missed the two adjustment screws. I've got this unit to fit a 20d with battery pack and a Kodak DCS Pro SLR/c. Small, tough, and gets rid of distracting nose side shadows! I use one at every wedding I shoot.

It flips the shadows away

[...] The product itself is very usefull to avoid long shadows when using the camera in a portrait direction. It is small and easy to use and fits perfektly in my camera bag. Only once in while the flash on top flips when you cary the camera on the side, but never while taking pictures.

The ultra-compact, "gripless", flash rotating bracket. It cradles the camera unobtrusively while maintaining an over-the-lens flash position with a design that lets you hold the camera rather than a grip, and rotate the flash for horizontal or vertical composition. What's more, the stress and weight of the flash unit is transferred from the light-duty camera shoe to the rugged Stroboframe mount. The Stroboflip is made for shoe-type flash units.
