I use this tripod to stabilize a small video camera and it is perfect for that purpose.

This won't replace your heavy duty tripod, but for portability and quick set up it can't be beat. Especially good for those times when you're not allowed to use a tripod and need a quick picture. Only downside is that it's not super stable so for night shots and long exposures you have to be sure that you don't get in a hurry and let the camera have time to stablize.

Ball head a plus , magnetic mount with safety clip unique.

Works fine as a walking stick. Immediately available as a monopod. The rubber feet probably won't last long. The magnetic attachment for the camera or tripod collar works just great, at least for my D70 w /18-200 lens.

I'm an amateur photographer and received my Trek-pod II in time for my last vacation. Although the tri-pod legs are not adjustable, the mag-mount could be adjusted to compensate for slight uneven/sloped surfaces. It was so much lighter and quicker to use than my old tri-pod. Plus it's a great Hiking Staff so you don't have to carry both. This is just the tool I had been looking for. Light weight, stable, quick and easy to use, loved the mag-mount. My only objection is I had to use the travel bag as it wouldn't fit into my suitcase.

Is what I was looking for in a monopod and the three legs opening at the bottom is just a plus. Use with my 40D from 17/30 wide angle zoom to 70/300IS Canon zoom and in the middle a heavy 150 Macro. Holds them all but use the heavy magnet along with the clip. It will get much use in the future.

An adequate compromise for outdoor photography. The magmount is very handy, quick to attach camera to monopod / tripod. But short thread section on adapter can back off camera. I dropped the adapter in underbrush the first time I used it in the field. The tripod legs are not adjustable, limiting use on steeply sloping ground. In those situations, use as a monopod. Robust velcro straps hold the tripod legs together while using as a hiking staff. But the twist locks slip and the staff sections can collapse when you really put pressure on the staff while crossing streams or difficult areas.

Even better than I had expected.

TrekPod II is Trek-Tech's entry-level combination of a lightweight, height- adjustable hiking staff with a fully-integrated tripod. It incorporates Trek-Tech's MagMount system but uses a cost-effective foam grip and polymer palm rest in place of the original TrekPod's natural cork, uses a non-adjustable wrist strap, and has a dark gray finish.
Magmount is an industry first, magnetic quick-release camera and optical device mounting system. It provides for the instant attachment of almost any camera, spotting scope or other device that uses 1/4-20 industry standard mounting stud. MagMount is a standard feature of the TrekPod and TrekPod II, but is also available as a separate accessory.
MagMount provides unprecedented levels of flexibility and functionality for outdoor photographers, birders, and hunters. Many additional uses have also been suggested, such as portable lighting, microphone mounting, etc.
Once you've used a MagMount in conjunction with any of your optics stabilization tools, you'll wonder why no one thought of this concept before!
