I've been eyeing this bag for a couple of years. I finally bought it and glad I did. Perfect size - fits my R5 with a 100-500 lens attached lying sideways, a flash and my binoculars. Nice feel to the bag.

Not one bad thing to say about this. I dig it, I appreciate the thought that goes into a product for specific needs of people like us. Keep making quality stuff, and consumers get ya some!

After using -- and loving my Retrospective 7, V1 for over 10 years, I decided to move up! I really do enjoy the 10, so far -- but, there are clearly some things I miss that I grew extremely fond of with the gen-1 Retrospective 7. First - when you flip over the top cover there is no business card holder. The velcro-sealed holder in the 7 was HUGE for me. Not just for biz cards but I always kept a spare memory card for my camera in there. Gone! Secondly - there are no exterior pockets on the 10. Why is that? More specifically, on my old 7 there were pockets on both sides. Perfect for spare camera batteries. Being able to access something small -- while on a shoot -- and not have to open the bag to get it was something I relied on so very much. Gone. These are the only reason's this bag doesn't rate a 5-star (for me) as things I found useful have been taken away. I'll adjust to not having either of those features, but make no mistake - I will miss them (and will probably never understand the need to remove them). Now, I've taken the new 10 v2 on a couple of shoots and I love it. Truth be told - I'm an easy sell because of my experience with the gen-1 Retrospective 7. I've travelled the world with the ThinkTank. They're extremely rugged. Durable. Reliable. Stealthy -- in the sense they don't look/feel like camera bags (which is what I love). I was able to fit my Dell XPS-13 laptop in my Retrospective 7 (outer back pocket) and it now fits in my new Retrospective 10 v2 (inner back pocket). The only reason I went up -- to a 10, and didn't stay with the 7 is the deeper inner compartments. With the 7, I could still carry my full size 70-200 lens, but with the 10 v2, I can carry that same big lens and it's not visible, as it was in the 7. Having a slightly deeper inner compartment is very nice. For the record, my "travel carry" for a shoot is one DSLR (Sony A99-II) with a 24-70mm mounted; one Zeiss 85mm Prime, and one G-Master 70-200. With that full sized body and these 3 lenese I can capture just about anything -- either in studio or outdoors, and it all fits nicely in the ThinkTank Retrospective 10 v2. Plenty of inner pockets for my memory cards, spare patteries, triggers, etc. The added inner flap to close (on top) is a nice touch. I can now have the back flap open but still have a layer of protection on the lenses inside. All in all I believe the ThinkTanks are THE best bags on the market and I'll always be a fan. I look forward to breaking this one in and hope to get at least as many miles on it, as my previous ThinkTank. For anyone considering this type of camera bag, I'd highly recommend getting one -- you'll be glad you did. Cheers.

I like the bag, I like the many little storage places, but the main zipper compartment is hard to zip and unzip around the corner turns. If you leave the bag unzipped but put the flap down, things can still get into the bag, like hands, rain, whatever. The carry handle on the bag is off center and I wish it was detachable. Maybe you could add optional side flaps that can velcro down so when you leave the zipper open, the flap actually covers the contents of the bag.

I am writing this review from Spain. Carrying a Nikon Z9, a 70-200mm, 24-70mm, 20mm, a teleconverter, a water bottle and umbrella. The bag is sturdy, attractive, and sits well on my shoulder. Highly recommended!

This is an almost perfect camera bag for mirrorless. It fits one small tele ( Z 400 f/4.5, 100-400 or 70-200), two bodies up to Z8, and two to four smaller lenses. Use a Peakdesign Pro Pad to carry a camera on the rail, and a shoulder sling for the other, and you distribute the weight nicely. That way it is comfortable enough to walk for hours. Should you keep everything on/in the bag, then you'll notice the weight after an hour. Its height is perfect to pass as a secondary carry on, but the width should be a bit more, 14" instead of 13". Then you could use two tele, and it would fit a MacBook Pro 14". The Retrospective 30 on the other hand would be too large. A FaceID iPad Pro 12.9" fits nicely and tightly.

I bought this because in wanted a bag which could comfortably hold Nikon gripped body and just 2 lenses. The Think Tank bags I had before this are designed either for smaller bodies or lots more gear. I have found that if I take my Retrospective 30, I either take too much gear or family members want me to carry their things too. I need a small bag where the Z9 or my other gripped bodies can be carried with smallish Z lenses is an essential set up. One zoom, one prime is good. Sometimes it is one 85mm and one flash unit. The Retrospective 10 v2 is perfect for this sort of outing. The build quality is why I keep coming back to Think Tank bags. It is excellent. ( I have 6 different Think Tank bags. Each one has a distinct purpose.) The Retrospective 10 #2 is my new favourite bag. The shoulder strap is comfortable, the design inside is flexible, beautifully thought out and there is the usual waterproof cover as a bonus if it rains. If you are going to buy a camera bag, get a great one. If you want one for a gripped body and a short prime partnered with something like a 70-200, this is the bag you should look at first.

This bag was designed and made by people who know how to assemble a useful piece of equipment. This is my first thinkTank bag and I love it. Carries just what I need to get the job done. The construction and materials are top notch. The zippered top inner flap is great for easy access but yet can be zipped for security. Has a lot of pockets and places ton store "extra" stuff. A great bag. I highly recommend the Retrospective 2.0 series bags.

Very well made, comfortable, and stylish in an unassuming way. Came with plenty of internal dividers, though they're a bit wider than I'd have preferred - they'll prop the bag open enough to fit a gripped DSLR, which would be a nice option but not really what I need. Perfectly fits a 13" iPad Pro with a magic keyboard in the laptop sleeve, with plenty of room for a flash, a spare lens or two, and a camera with lens and hood attached - and that's just in the zippered main compartment. Depending on the glass, it'll get heavy, but I have no concerns about the strap's ability to deal with it. This bag is built like a tank. I wouldn't mind an additional zippered pocket somewhere - the spot that's intended to fit a 10" tablet would make a great candidate. Somewhere to slip in ND filters, polarizers, CT gels and the like. Perhaps a small zippered pocket on the outside of the flap where I could store business cards, SD cards, and a flash drive or two for quick access.

I used many canvas bags. Mainly Domke. This is my first Think Tank product. It combines modern gear compatibility with comfort of heavy duty canvas. Many compartments in a relatively compact package. I bought it for my Sony A7III with three lenses. And there is room for all the accessories and much more. My next bag with be Think Tank for sure.

I wanted a smaller footprint bag for my camera gear to replace my aging (but still functional) backpack. I had previously bought the Think Tank holster 150 for my Nikon D7200 and 200/500 lens. I was very impressed by the build quality and the "thought" in the details of the 150. I decided to complete my carry upgrading with the Retrospective 10 V2 shoulder bag. Quality of material and construction is first rate. I can carry my D7200 with a mounted 18/300, cleaning supplies, SB700 flash, lens hood, blower bulb, better beamer, batteries, small SD card case, black rapid strap and more. Easier to grab than my backpack quicker to access my gear while walking around. I found the listed dimensions accurate and very helpful to select "my" size. I love it, if you would like a shoulder bag check this series out, great product. -- Bill

I was looking for a shoulder bag and ultimate ended up with the 10 V2.0. It checked all the boxes. I love the green sage colored soft fabric. The ability to silence the Velcro. I wanted a bag ths5 didn't look like a camera bag, or least something subtle. It needed to house my full frame Canon R mirrorless system. While I wouldn't travel with my entire kit, it would actually hold it all. An R5 body, 50 f1.8, 15-35, 24-105, 70-200, and 100-500, plus some accessories. I have used it as an overnigh5 bag along with my camera. So versatile. I also like how I can zip the main compartment closed for security. It Carrie's my body with RF 70-200 attached and can fit with my 100-500 attached, though a smidge long. It might have been nice to have mechanical clips to close the main flap for when the bag gets very worn.

I?m not sorry I bought this bag. It will carry a good amount of gear, and has an abundance of storage spaces. Great for taking to an event shoot. As far as a keep on your shoulder bag, it is heavy even when empty. Once it is loaded, you would want to get to your shoot and put it down and not carry it around. The zippered flap over the main compartments, is tough to unzip because of the corners at the rear of the bag. I didn?t own a large bag that would carry what I need at events. So until I bought this, I always had to take two bags. As I said it is a great bag and well worth the money.

Best camera bag I've had so far. It fits my 2021 12.9 inch iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard, which was my main concern. Is a bit wide front to back, and for that the Retrospective 7 has the edge on the space distribution, but I managed it by using the 7 dividers on the 10. Is now perfect.

If carrying a large water bottle and laptop computer are more important than carrying camera gear, then the v2.0 is the bag for you. If on the other hand you would prefer to store batteries and other smaller camera accessories, buy a used v1.0 as I have. Selling my recently purchased v2.0.

This is a great bag! Well made with quality materials. This is my first V2 Retrospective bag. I like the changes they have made. The water bottle holder is a welcome addition as is the top flap that can be zipped closed.

This is for the Retrospective 10 v.2.0. I like the overall design; lots of useful features. I found that I could fit in a Nikon D850 with 24-120 lens attached, plus a Nikkor 16-35 f/4 and a Nikkor 70-300 f/4.5. This is a bit more than Think Tank claims for the bag. It's a tight squeeze but there is even room for my Sony RX-100 in one corner. I don't generally travel with my laptop so that allowed an extra inch or so of width to the main compartment. With a laptop the above-mentioned items probably would not all fit. I'm doubtful about the security of the large open front pocket; I definitely wouldn't put anything in it that I couldn't afford to lose. Not sure how, or if, I will use that pocket at all.

Just bought my 5 V2.0. What a nice and cool bag full of (hidden) possibilities. My Canon EOS 70 D with a wide-angle lens and an extra lens is easy to insert. Very happy with it.

I have both the Retrospective 7 V1 and the 10 V2 and both are great shoulder bags. My wife finds the 10 to be a great airplane carry-on that allows her to have all of her essential stuff right at hand. I use either bag with my camera gear depending on what I need in terms of lens or auxillary equipment. Another great product.

Ordered the Think Tank 30 V.2 at first. But once I got it, it’s too big to my liking. Too long, 17”x12”x6”. Returned it and ordered this. I was debating this one or the Peak Design Messenger Bag, but decided on this one. It’s perfect. Just the right size for traveling. Actually, it’s big enough to fit all the gear that I will bring plus more stuff, like water bottle, umbrella, chargers, cables, even a wind breaker. Love this bag. Just came back from East Coast and Niagara Fall trip. It worked perfectly. Highly recommended.

I first bought the Retrospective 5 v2 but it was a little too small. I passed it on to my girlfriend and bought the 10 v2. It is perfect! My Nikon D750 with 28-300 attached fits easily along with an extra lens, and my speedlight. Lots of pockets for all the little extras like filters, lens wipes, replacement eye pieces etc. I can even fit my HP Spectre 13 laptop in it. Plenty of pockets. Bag is VERY sturdy, has tons of innovative features like silencing velcro, collapsible water bottle holder very comfortable strap with non-slip grips, zippered flaps, etc. This is the best shoulder bag I have EVER come across. This is my second Think Tank product. Will definitely not be my last. Think Tank products seem to be VERY well designed and built. VERY happy with this bag.

Style and Stealth. Several external and external storage pockets. Fits my D850 +grip+L-bracket with 24-70 or 70-200 (lens down) with lense hoods reversed. A great value; would purchase again.
