Not great. Unusable for Astrophotography.

There's no intervelometer support, even through Canon's awful app, however there is a third party app. It also is artificially limited by it's built in firmware, limiting exposure time to 30s and that cannot be exceeded, at all, even with third party apps. There are so few EF-M lenses and Canon's first party adapter is ridiculously expensive. Overall it's just a mediocre camera that's intentionally, artificially limited.

Solid Camera All Around

Recently purchased it and have been snapping away! I've had some practice in the past before with the exact camera but in white for work, now, I have one to call my own. I have experience with other well-known brands, but I always find my way back to Canon products. This M50 Mark II is very lightweight and easy to use. The WiFi accessibility for transferring images is by far one of my favorite features. Good well-rounded camera with a quick shutter speed.

Perfect beginner camera

Great beginner camera. Its compact size is perfect for on-the-go shooting, and always delivers sharp and vibrant photos. The autofocus is a real standout, especially with eye detection - makes sure my subjects are always in focus. Love the vari-angle touchscreen - it's a game-changer for framing shots, and it's so easy to use. The 4K video is a nice touch, but the crop factor is a bit of a downside. Nonetheless, for everyday shooting and creating content, this camera is a winner! You can't beat the price.

Recent purchase; use on vacation.

Battery life is a bit short. Would like a lens with wider focus range.

Dont recommend!!!

I bought this because a vlogger on YouTube recommended it. I do not recommend. I don't have Wifi so I tried to connect it via USB cable. I downloaded the proper software and called customer support customer couldn't help. didn't't connect to my apple laptop. I spent my savings on this as my first camera. im really disappointed

Udgraded and so happy!

I just used this camera to help a photographer friend shoot a wedding. I love it!! It is smaller than I expected it to be and lighter weight. The picture quality is so clear. I upgraded from a Canon Rebel T6i.

Good Product

It has been a lot of fun learning how to use this camera, as it is my first upgrade from a standard phone camera. It is high quality and takes great picture and video. The microphone and neck strap are average quality but sufficient. Tripod is decent too. Overall would recommend.

Canon M50 mark II

I absolutely LOVE this M50 mark ii. I debated for do long between cameras. For my YouTube channel and occasionally taking photos at cat shows, family vacations, ect... the quality is great. Very easy to use. I paired with the sigma 16mm 1.4 lens and it's perfect for my videos giving me the nice blurry background. For the price, I don't think you can beat it!

I couldn't imagine a better camera for my use

I have been using it for six months and it has been a great camera for practically all the situations I've used it for, including both video and still photos of landscapes, waterfalls, portraits, parties, action, wildlife, sunsets, etc.

Fantastic Mirrorless

My name is Hunter Sopak, I run a photography brand called "Upper Lehigh Railfan". Despite multiple reviews about how its not really good with sports content, this camera does really well and blows my Nikon D3200 out of the water.

Tiny camera, Big quality

Love this camera, but I'm afraid Canon has killed it. It's tiny but has the same sensor as the older, huge, Canon dslrs. And despite its small size, has a large and comfortable grip. Lots of good lenses available for this, which is not true of Canon's new mirrorless apsc offerings.

Great product for the price you pay.

A good camera for the price. I have used it for professional work. I would suggest getting extra batteries as the battery does not have enough life for a whole days shoot. You will get about 2 hours of footage per battery.

A Must Have!

I needed a great quality camera that can match the performance of my 5D Mark IV. In the beginning I didn't do much research on this camera. It initially was a "this camera seems cool" type of thing until I purchased my first one. Right out of the box I learned how to use it quickly. The easy to follow instructions made me like this camera so much I purchased a second one! You will not regret purchasing this friendly, easy to use camera. I find this camera to be a must have for your arsenal.

Excellent Starter

I needed a camera that was lightweight and relatively inexpensive: the Canon M50 is both. All Canon cameras are easy to use and this one is no exception. When it comes to a beginner camera, the M50 checks all boxes but one. The lens variety is quite limited because they're mirrorless and small. A quick fix to this issue is to purchase an adaptor, which are priced fairly, so that you can use other normal Canon lenses. The Canon M50 is, no doubt, a great beginner camera. One bad thing is that the limits of this camera are reached far too soon. Not a bad starter nonetheless.

Great camera useless microphone

The camera and the wireless remote are great but the microphone is useless. The kit is overpriced for the items that are included. You would be better off buying the camera separately and getting a different microphone. The kit lens is fine but I still had to buy a better lens. But I absolutely love my camera with the nifty fifty lens.

A fun little memory maker.

So happy with this camera. I moved to mirrorless from my Canon 60D. The camera is very comprehensive to use and great for amateur photographers. I?m using the camera for filming on a budget and it gets the job done. I?m happy with the effort this little machine puts out! Plus the white color is a nice change.

Great camera

Great starter camera for photo/video

By WynP

Mark II offers cleaner HDMI and improved autofocus. It still offers great interface and specs of the Mark I. As a beginner personally I really like it! But cost is a concern I would recommend getting Mark I to get discounts.

The EOS M50 Mark II carries and builds on the strong performance of the popular EOS M50 with improvements that will be especially notable for content creators like vloggers and more. You still get the impressive image quality of the 24.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor, power of the DIGIC 8 image processor, 4K UHD 24p and HD 120p for slow motion video and more, along with some additional boosts. The autofocus locks onto the subject faster, and Eye Detection is improved so it recognizes the eyes and face further away. Eye Detection can now even be used during video with Movie Servo AF, and you can use both Eye and Face Detection during Servo AF.

What you get is added versatility and stability to keep the subject(s) in focus and as the center of attention. For content creators, you can use the EOS M50 Mark II to livestream your content with built-in Wi-Fi, and use with EOS Webcam Utility software for an easy webcam alternative. When a different angle is needed, you can shoot vertically in addition to horizontally, and the camera even offers clean HDMI output for high-resolution, high frame-rate streaming. When it comes to content, whether stills or video, the EOS M50 Mark II goes far beyond letting you just scratch the surface of your vision.

24.1 Megapixel (APS-C) CMOS sensor with ISO 100-25600 (H: 51200)

When set to High, it can even smooth the transitions between colors, assisting you to take impressively lifelike images.

Improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF and Eye Detection AF (Still/Movie Servo AF support)
Dual Pixel CMOS AF provides fast, accurate autofocus that helps you get the photo you want right as the moment happens. The EOS M50 Mark II features an expansive focus area of approx. 88% horizontal and 100% vertical1. With the EOS M50 Mark II, you can easily capture your subject quickly with the improved Eye Detection AF - allowing you to shoot even when the subject is far away. Eye Detection AF can also be used when the subject's full body is in frame, to lock on the eyes from a further distance.

4K UHD 24p and HD 120p for Slow Motion
With the help of the DIGIC 8 image processor, and the 24.1 Megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor, enjoy recording 4K movies at a frame rate of up to 24p for high definition, cinematic results. Recording at almost four times the resolution of Full HD, you can see your subject in stunning clarity. Beautiful time-lapse videos can be created in 4K simply and easily with the dedicated Time-lapse Movie mode.

HD 120p Videos

The electronic viewfinder (EVF) provides a bright, sharp and colorful 100% view of the subject at hand. Equipped with an aspherical lens, the EVF shows a crisp and vivid image with minimal distortion, even when the eye moves off the center of the visual field.
