I purchased this lens after having purchased the Composer II with the Sweet 50 optic. This lens is equally solid in its construction, and the effects achieved with it are outstanding. I'm still working with it so that I can become more comfortable with it, but so far I like what I see. I'm finding it easier to focus through the viewfinder because of a lack of glare on the LED screen. Focusing is quick down to about f/5.6, then it becomes a bit more cumbersome. The only thing that I don't like is that there are no threads for attaching a UV filter, whereas the Sweet 50 Optic does have threads. But all in all, it's a worthwhile experience, and the price point is good. I'd buy it again. Ordering and delivery were superb.

The Edge 35 Optic is a 35mm, f/3.5, flat-field of focus Optic that is part of Lensbaby's Optic Swap System and is compatible with both the Composer Pro and Composer Pro II lens.
The Edge 35 Optic is designed for photographers looking to create unique in-camera shots with a slice of tack-sharp focus and detail, at a wider focal length. Using the Edge 35 inside of a Composer Pro/II, will place a slice of sharp focus through objects in both the foreground and background of an image, bordered by smooth blur. This Optic builds on the success of our Edge 50 and Edge 80 Optics - but at a wider focal length to fit more of the story into the frame.
Keep the lens pointed straightforward to capture tack sharp 35mm images with no creative effect, or create a slice of focus through the image by simply tilting the lens. Tilt the lens up or down to achieve a horizontal slice of focus; left or right a vertical slice; diagonally for a diagonal slice. After setting the direction of tilt, rotate the focus ring to move that slice of focus through the image, from one side of the frame to the other. When tilted, the width of the slice of focus depends upon the aperture used. Brighter apertures will produce a thin slice of focus with lots of blur, to isolate the subject from their surroundings, while darker apertures will capture more of the scene in focus.
Lensbaby's Optic Swap Lenses are a two-part system, made up of a lens body with an included optic. Simply swap out the optic that it came with, and insert a new one into the lens body to completely change the effect and focal length of the lens.
