Very good camera for travel, compact and delivers nice images Optics are very good, and the LVF/Screen ease of swtiching is very good It has a plethora of options, of which I have only used a few. The small sensor becomes a challenge in poorly lit situations (inside) as images tend to be noisy but still usable for memories and even web publishing.

For the price this is a very good camera. Makes a great backup to your dslr. No need to carry extra lens is a plus. If you are familiar with DSLR setting you will have no trouble getting the most out of this camera. And even if you don't you will still get great quality pictures. Also the zoom is amazing.

Great for my point and shoot use. Takes decent moon shots, too. Love the powerful zoom.

Awesome package, however the additional battery charger was the wrong model. They sent me a Sony battery charge which is nothing like the Panasonic?

As my first camera it's easy to use. I think it takes great pictures, again a beginner first camera more a pro might disagree. I bought it mostly to be able to zoom, it does a fantastic job. One complaint is the app is outdated. Doesn't always connect but I rarely use the app anyways.

This was the second camera that I purchased, the first was a Minolta bridge camera. Unfortunately, the Minolta has no optical or electronic view finders making it nearly impossible to use outdoors on a sunny ?? day. Here in Florida we have a lot of those days. So the Lumix made an astounding replacement for the Minolta. It?s even easier to use. Unfortunately, this form will not let me post a photo taken by the Lumix.

A useful camera for tourism, but as many reviews on the web have noted, the photo quality is not a clear enhancement over recent iPhones'. In fact, my iPhone 12 took better photos of indoor of dimly-lit church or multi-layered streets in Italy than this camera does on the basic automatic setting.

Best a point and shoot can offer. Wish it did continuous shots and captured motion better but I might just need to learn the settings more? Still, very happy with it. INCREDIBLE zoom.

If you are looking to move up to a DSLR-like camera from your cell phone, this may be your camera, particularly with this package (extra battery, filter pack and bag are great). For someone like that, this probably is a "5." If you are a prosumer who has a DSLR or mirrorless camera already, this will work nicely as a "keep in the car console" camera. You can charge on the fly with a microUSB cord. Very good. But it has a lot of little things that you need to keep in mind. Depth of field on the longer mm settings are woeful. Trying to photograph an eagle at the 35mm equivalent of 1,100 mm was painfully soft. Shorter distances are better. In the prosumer world, this is probably a "3." If I were a real estate agent, this would rock. The wide angle setting will let you get nice photos inside a house. And if you are looking to be creative coming out of cell phone land, it rocks. The creative settings (such as sunset) are wonderful. It's downright fun.

It's a great little camera with a lot of range but picture quality degrades at further end of zoom, although is probably pleasing enough for casual usage. Very light and comfortable to hold. Would make a good travel camera for normal shooting situations.

For a beginner to intermediate user, this camera is outstanding. It will take you some weeks of use to master some of the controls and features. And then more time to learn more, and operate the camera with less thinking and faster results. Practice, practice, practice is all it takes. Take a picture? Take at least a few of the same subject if not more, using different settings. There is not much to dislike in this all-in-one camera. Maybe a bit large and heavy to tote around a place like Disney World where you will probably be for a couple of hours. To be comfortable, take a small but very good point and shoot. But--this camera rocks for its abilities and amazing focal length. Just know that when using a do-all lens, it cannot match separate lenses to match specific jobs. But it's really very good, quiet operation (I turn of beeps and shutter sounds) and the microprocessor has ok speed for this price point. Controls and touch screen work great. My only two nit pics are - 1. The Viewfinder has a focus adjustment wheel that works well, but is slightly too exposed to being bumped and change focus. To be fair, this rarely happens unless I use the MegaGear case I bought with the camera. Opening and closing the upper case tends to drag just a bit on this wheel so it's not really the cameras fault except if the wheel had molded ridge lines on each side of the wheel, that would negate errant movement of the wheel. 2. Before purchasing any product, I pride myself in doing a fair level of research. That was no different with this camera. I was pleased that it used SD cards which are easy to put in and take out. And the camera has Wi-Fi connectability for picture and video file transfers. Great! But I assumed it would have a physical USB port too. It does not. This is never a problem when I transfer pics and videos with my home computers; wi-fi works great and if your xferring JPG format, the transfer is fairly fast. But when I go to the office, there is no way, no how the camera's Wi-fi gets recognized by the office Gateway/Router. And let it's easy as pie using the same protocol to connect an iPhone and iPad or even an Android based device. This camera recognizes the Gateway's Wi-Fi by name and I get fairly well down the configuration path but ultimately it chokes and will not link up. Our IT guy is no help and I don't have Admistrative access to the Gateway. For now I can't tell you that it is the camera's Wi-Fi or the Gateway. I suspect its the Gateway but meantime, I have to open the bottom door of the camera, pop out the SD card and then use a USB to SD card adapter to load pictures into an office desktop computer to get my work done. While the problem may very well be human error instead of camera or Gateway issue, I really think the camera should have included a USB port to make a fast & simple cable connection anywhere we go with the camera. Aside from not having the physical USB port connectivity, I really do like this camera. Solid feel and has been on many treks/hikes/use and used at the office every week, close up pics of electronic circuitry work I do on a regular basis. Love it.

Given the price point, it's hard to not like this camera. Very good AF, decent image quality, and an incredible zoom range really are big plusses. No, the EVF is not great, and it does use a very small sensor, but the results are typically much better than the specs.

The Lumix DC-FZ80 is a great value for a novice photographer looking for zoom capabilities. I had Fujifilm X-A3 mirrorless and enjoyed it but wanted more than digital zoom features. I am enjoying it already. Thanks.

Everything is automatic, which is fine if you have no intention of using this often, but if you want to grow with it you'll be very disappointed with how extremely limited the manual controls are. Plus, it only records 15 minutes of 4k, while every other mode is either unlimited or starts a new file when it hits the limit. Lost 2 minutes of amazing footage before I figured that out. Pretty good for the price, but just pony up and buy something that you can grow with. Because you're worth it, that's why.

I have owned several Travel Zoom (TZ) LUMIX cameras that have literally travelled around the world with me. I have made much better images with them than a couple of Canon and Nikon comparable units. Whether true or not, I attribute it to the Leica lenses. So, when my travel wings were clipped, I looked to the same formula along with wanting a lot of reach to capture the beautiful Sonoran Desert wildlife all around me. This camera has been fantastic for the price?or, at a much higher price. I am still learning it and many of its very useful features.

I really like this camera, it takes great pictures and the viewfinder is great too. I like everything about it, and haven't found anything I don't like so far. It is perfect to take pictures of flowers and birds! I would recommend this camera to someone who is looking for a good camera but doesn't want to buy a super expensive one.

A very, very good camera for the price. I bought when first came out, use it constantly, never a problem. It is lightweight for it size and very durable. I've hauled it all over the world and it holds up well. Not if you want extremely professional photos but great for advanced amateur photographer. Photos all enlarge great without distortion and good color rendition. Controls are very easy to use and intuitive. Zoom works extremely fast and soundless for great videos. Good for indoor pho...

Excellent zoom and perfect for birding expeditions
By Abigail B.
I am so happy with this FZ80 camera. After sorting through many youtube and internet reviews, I finally decided to take a leap and purchase this one from Adorama as my first "adult" camera. I wanted a superzoom to take birdwatching with me and this came highly recommended. Even with no previous photography experience, I've been able to capture some incredible images of birds that even with my binoculars I can't view clearly. If your looking for a came fe a with great zoom, this is it.
From capturing breathtaking landscapes to intricate close-ups, the Panasonic LUMIX FZ80D 18.1MP Point & Shoot Digital Camera is engineered to deliver exceptional image quality and versatility. This lightweight, feature-rich camera is equipped with a powerful 20-1200mm zoom lens (35mm camera equivalent), making it ideal for both wide-angle and telephoto photography. Whether you're shooting expansive vistas or detailed macro shots, the FZ80D excels with its impressive minimum focusing distance of just 1cm, perfect for capturing the fine details of food, flowers, and insects.

Enhance your photographic creativity with the Post-Focus feature, which allows you to adjust the focus area after taking the shot, ensuring impeccable composition every time. The camera's 3.0-inch rear monitor, with a high resolution of approximately 1,840k-dot, offers excellent visibility and intuitive touch control, enabling you to set focus and release the shutter with a simple tap on the screen. The Zoom Compose Assist function is a handy tool for telephoto shooting, allowing you to quickly zoom out to reconfirm your composition with a single button press.
