Review Summary

Bought it primarily due to Seth Miranda's video review of this stand. Can't dispute any of his reasoning after using it a little. Only wish it was a little taller. It's not flimsy, and should last far beyond any of the cheap stands that are out there.

Great build quality Weight is reasonable and not much different from others Stability is great, didn't rock at all even when my dog bumped into it

Excellent sturdy light stand. It is compact enough to fit in a suitcase. The downside is that it is heavier than other stands. However, this is more than justified by its performance.

Overall I do like this light stand. However I was disappointed in that with the legs spread out the height is closer to 6 ft 5 in. You have to narrow the spread on the legs to the point it becomes unstable to reach the 7 ft 5 in height in the name. It does packed down incredibly small and is incredibly lightweight. I'm a real estate photographer and this stand is great for moving around a lot inside. To use it outside you'd have to use several heavy bags, and even then I'm not sure I would trust it. It's hard to tell what the locking mechanisms are made out of. But I think it's some sort of composite plastic with a metal insert. They seem strong enough but only time will tell how long they'll last.

I?m really liking how compact these are but totally functional. I wish they went a little bit taller but still tall enough for most situations and they seem very sturdy too.

One of the most easy to use, pack, carry and most of all reliable stands that I've ever purchased. I love how compact it is and I'm def going to buy another one soon.

This is a great travel stand for light/medium lights. A lot sturdier than other reversible stands without being much larger. Would definitely recommend if you’re shooting with lights outdoors and want to travel light.

I bought a pair of these stands because I read a positive review about them and because they are fairly compact. In the end I'll use them, but I don't love them. They are not nearly as sturdy as my 20-year-old Norman stands and they tip over much more easily. They are indeed compact and will fit into a suitcase or smaller bag more easily than most light stands.

Very good, it’s Matthews, therefore expensive. A little heavier than I had hoped for.

So I got these for location shoots while traveling with my Profoto b10 plus lights. They are small and compact and well built. The only issue is that outside with some wind we needed someone to hold them. However we didn’t have sandbags, so this could have made a difference. Overall nice stands.

this is the best of the compact stands I have used and I have used a half dozen similar stands. I wouldn't put a lot of weight on this thing but it is pretty much the perfect complement to profoto b10 or b2 setups for compact and lightweight performance.

The selling feature for me on this stand is that it gets small; very small when collapsed. I needed something that was easy to setup and tear down quickly while being light enough to hand-hold is necessary. This stand fits the bill. It's not particularly strong so do yourself a favor and DO NOT go over the recommended weight capacity. It will teeter on you if you're not careful. But if you use it as intended it is a good stand. One major con is that it's a rattler. Those flimsy legs that allow it to fold up so small make quite a ruckus of noise. That rattle and shake and it sounds like the cheapest built stand ever. It doesn't give one a sense of confidence and it doesn't sound very professional when your gear sounds like a bolt inside of a tin can when you unfold it. Yet, it hasn't failed yet. Beware of that sound and beware of those little rubber tips on the legs. You're gonna lose a few. It's a good stand but I do wish it was a bit sturdier. It sways, seems flimsy and cheap on those things legs and it makes a racket but it keeps going.

I love the size and weight of this stand. Being a photographer that’s always on the go, it’s perfect for outdoor sessions, weddings, or any event. Use this for our profoto B10 and one for our profoto A1 It’s very well built, and doesn’t feel cheap like my other stands I will definitely recommend these to everyone.

Pro : More sturdy than 5001b, quick extend and adjust. Con : No 1/4" or any screw, need modification in machine shop. : Curved center column when extended cause of section lock, solve by rotate 90 degree in same direction for every sections.

This stand holds more weight than the others in it's class. It's amazingly small which means it fits in pretty much any bag for travel. The only downside is the lack of a 1/4"-20 mounting screw on the stud. But 20 minutes in the workshop and I was able to drill and tap a hole in the aluminum stud.
