Good beginner/hobbyist scanner

We purchased this scanner for use in a school environment. We previously tested other scanners around this price range to about double the price and have gotten mixed results. Other scanners typically rely on using light to scan the object, this can be a problem in a classroom environment where you can't turn off the lights because other students are working. The Matter and Form scanner was easy to setup and calibrate and uses a laser to scan the object which doesn't require turning down the lights in the room. Another nice feature is it does come with an editing program that allows you to perform slight adjustments to the part after it has been scanned. I definitely recommend this scanner to the beginner/hobbyist looking for a decent scanner on a budget or a scanner that can be used in a classroom.
