Works, but a bit small

I put it on my full size Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod and used it briefly last night. While it works, it is too small for a full size tripod. The mounting plate on the tripod is wider than the base of this head, so there is a large section of tripod base plate surrounding it. It just looks and feels off. Also the knob is a bit small - not tiny - but smaller than the nice large rubberized knob on the Manfrotto head I replaced it with. (My only reason for replacement is to get an Arca-Swiss head). I moved this head to my monopod, for which it fits better, but I have ordered a larger and more expensive Really Right Stuff ballhead to fit my tripod properly. If you have a mini travel tripod or a monopod this head is fine, but for a full size tripod it's too small (even though you can make it work).
