I've always been drawn to 3 Legged Thing's product line.  I love how they take something that's traditionally quite boring and make it, well?kinda sexy.  Its looks are only surpassed by its usefulness.  They ESILY handle far more weight than one would expect at this price range and are incredibly stable.  The new carrying cases are a huge jump in quality over their previous generation.

So why the 4 stars instead of 5?  Mine arrived with a few scratches on 2 of the locking ball joints.  Not a deal breaker, but for something that people buy for looks as well as utility, it matters.

Almost perfect.

I am an above average photographer but not quite the level of a pro.  I recently upgraded from the Siuri T-1005 and just got tired of not being able to get some shots that I knew were feasible had I had a proper tripod.  This tripod exceeds all expectations.  Over vacation, I ran into multiple other photographers who all had the first edition of the Albert and they could not overstate how great the tripod was.  There were also instances where I was trying to shoot over large crowds in Europe and was unable.  However, the other photographers who fully utilized the expanding height of the Albert were able to shoot over crowds with ease as if they weren't even there.  There are lighter tripods out there, but as a total package, the Albert 2.0 is perfect for travel anywhere.
