This is our secondary tripod, with a gimbal head being the primary. However, this tripod and pistol grip ballhead are great. I am glad to have this tripod when our gimbal head is not available. It would be fine as a primary tripod for still pics.

The tripod and head hold the weight of my cameras, large, medium film as well as full frame digital with a 150-600mm lens easily!

Awesome! The tripod is very well built, solid and light (cf). I prefer the snap locks over the twist style. This is the best tripod I’ve ever owned. As for the pistol grip; it’s awesome! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve loosened the wrong nit on my old head and had the camera collapse. Not any more. Very thoughtful that they added a tension wheel to adjust. All together a super nice system I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others.

Like I said in the title, the quality of materials on this tripod is crazy good. I love the height capabilities. Plus even when fully extended, it is very steady and I feel very confident with my camera's safety. However, there are some things I don't really like. First of all, its pretty heavy. I was hoping that it would be light, being carbon fiber, but it was much heavier than I expected. Secondly, the leg flip locks are extremely hard to flip open and closed. It also seems that they don't provide a very strong lock even when tight. When I push down on the legs they collapse a bit. Its not a big issue and takes more weight than I'd ever put on the tripod, but it makes me a little uneasy. I haven't used it much "in the field" so these issues may not come up with more use.

I have been quite happy with my purchase. This tripod is sturdy and stable even with telephoto lenses. It is easy to set up and to fold back. It comes with a bag, which is an added value.

I think I looked and compared almost every tripod online and all of them at the PDN show at the Javitts Center in NYC. this year (2018). After careful decision to buy the 3Pod Orbit 4 Section Carbon Fiber Tripod with Pistol Grip Ballhead from Adorama, I was pleasently surprised. The carbon fiber legs construction was a bonus for the reasonable price. The quality and workmanship is very admirable. I purchased it with the pistol grip ballhead. A very strong adjustable grip I may add. It holds my Sony SLT with lens very easily. (has not drooped or fallen yet) The flip lock legs are secure and the horizontal bar is a welcome addition as it is very handy. I highly recommend this 3POD tripod to anyone who wants quality and the price is right. 5 stars for me.....Write your review here. It must be at least 10 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

The tripod itself is great, but the pistol grip ball head was worthless to me. The ball joint worked fine but the grip would twist very easily even tightened all the way down. I returned the grip and purchased a better ball head, happy with the combo now.

I enjoy using this tripod, when using my canon cameras. Problem is the legs won't stay tight , they keep slipping and the I can not seem to tighten the head enough, that slips too. It is tough to grin and bear it

The tripod is good, and the head is strong and able to hold my long lens. Adjusting is smooth and stable.

I am new to photography. I had bought needed accessories on eBay and from local camera stores. Since I am inexperienced I didn't know what was best for me and my situation and so I was buying items that weren't as useful as I would like. I called Adorama and got hooked up with Manny. Manny took the time to listen to me and then because he knows photography gear he helped me select the product that best fit my needs. Suffice it to say I call Manny now for advice whenever I need additional gear. Because of the good service I have become a loyal customer.

Excellent heavy duty tripod. Only two issues I have had are the head does not fit in the bag and the bag that it came with is difficult to close with the tripod in it and when putting my D750 on it with the battery grip my tamron 70-200 doesn't fit without moving the bracket on the lens and sliding it in. Otherwise the tripod is sturdy. No issues yet.

The tripod is light, well made and useful. I love the pistol grip. It permits quick and accurate adjustments in camera position.

My department bought this and it has been awesome for our use. The screw in points are great for setting up outside and having the versatility to screw the pads back out and take inside is great. No need for extra small parts to get lost. Only down thing is our department only bought one so I have to share!

So far my favorite tripod for in field use. I consider consider it a medium duty tripod. Until 7/11/2016 I had no problems wit the tripod itself, but unfortunately while using it, one of the legs came completely off from the top section. One of the top clamp screws became loose so when I pull the leg out it came off. Fortunately the tripos is supplied with allen wrenches to change the configuration and were to proper tools to tighten the clamp once I figured out how to get it back together. If this happens to you be sure to recover the two plastic bushing pieces and right sure to align the leg to the proper orientation. From now on I will do a quick check of the screws. My only other problem is with the case. Although the outer cover part is heavy and well made the inner pouch is rather shoddily sewn and the case itself is not large enough to accommodate the head. I still recommend it highly as I was took only about 10 minutes to figure out and repair the tripod and because it is so very versatile especially for extremely low angle shots where you need to be near floor lever or a make shift copy stand where need to get the camera out of the way ot the tripod legs.

As a professional Landscape and Macro photographer, I have tried a lot of tripods. This has to be one of the better tripods for shooting Macro and Flowers. I can place the tripod all the way to the ground without the center column interfering. The pistol grip ball head is a nice unit. I have not found any wondering of the ball head when I have my D800E with mb-d12, and 105mm Macro lens attached. The carbon fiber takes out a lot of weight when tracking through the Rockies.....

What I like most is the height of the tripod. I can raise it to a comfortable level.
