I loved the idea of the top segment coning out sideways to allow so much more flexibility in framing. However, the plastic knobs all loosen and my camera moves out of position constantly. It rolls forward and tips down, simply impossible. But the worst part is the leg adjustments - half the plastic flaps that are supposed to hold the tubes in place are so tight I can't open them, and the others are all loose and the whole tripod leans slides downward and leans over. Even with duct tape wrapped around it (which renders it non-adjustable) it still slips down. It was pricey for my budget, and a real disappointment when it came.

don't waste your money on this tripod leg. leg lock is a bit tight and hard to operate, but workable. three months into it, leg lock starts to loosen up by itself after a walking around shooting day about 3 hours, less than 10 times setting it up and put it back into original position. came with tools to tighten the leg lock, thinking it might be ok. But today, I just got off airplane for my Tokyo trip, two out of three tripod leg fall off by itself with some broken plastic parts. there is no way I can repair it by myself. guess this tripod leg just can't stand air traveling like other manfratto trip I owned before. -1 million stars.

The tripod is well built, more than what I expected. It's a bit on the heavy side but I plan to use this mainly for non-travel related. The only regret I have is that Adorama reduced of the carbon fiber version to almost the same price as this when I bought it a few weeks ago. I really wanted the carbon fiber to ease the weight but that time the price was much higher even when it was on reduced price.

My wife complains that I have to many tripods and I do but each one is used for a specific job. One has a Gimbal head another a geared head and one has a micro rail, I carry a small lite weight tripod and mono-pod with ball heads in my truck and another pair in my wife's car for times when I'm out and find something I want to shoot but hadn't planed for. Then there is the 3pod I bought for its center column that can be adjusted so you can shoot down on a subject and the 3pod is perfect for my needs well built and not to expensive, I love the 3pod.

Bought two of these to use with a slider. For my work, I need something light, quick to set up and reliable. So far, the lock levers are secure and the tripods are pretty light. Everything so far seems well made. The rotating shaft has actually been quite handy for the slider, allowing for short overhead tracking shots.

Awesome build quality and weight. This this is sturdy. The only thing to be mindful of is when you have the arm fully extended with a heavy camera attach but the legs are on the shortest setting it will try to tip over. That?s probably more of an over sight on my part but no problem beyond that. Especially for the sale price I got it for.

This is a great all around tripod. It allows you to shoot safely at creative angles. The telescoping legs are it's strongpoint (no pun intended). It takes a bit of an effort to lock them in place. But when they do they dare rock steady. The tripod remains firm under load and do not creep.

Solid mount, lots of adjustment. Very smooth action in the pistol grip ballhead.

Leg latches are really stiff and take an effort to operate. Other than that, a decent tripod for the money.

This is absolutely perfect for me. I was concerned about the height without the extension tube. There are THREE examples of the height, one for each angle the legs are set! All the other manufacturers give the height with the tube if anything at all. The weight this can handle is the biggest deal, I use different medium and large format film cameras so I need a tripod that can handle the weight. This may be the finest tripod available anywhere and it?s carbon fiber too !!

I love this tripod. It?s sturdy, but not too heavy, which is why I went with the carbon one. I like the versatility of it, which is great for product and flat layout photography. Moreover, the fluid video head, which can be purchased separately, is a plus since I do photography and videography. I?m happy with this purchase.

I use this tripod and mount for police work. It’s steady. Solid. And versatile. I’ve used it for long range shooting, low light, and over the top/straight down photography. For the money it works fine. The legs stay in place. Other reviewers seem to have missed the user-adjustable tension on the clamps.

I bought this 3Pod tripod and the 3Pod, multi-directional head at the same time. I read some of the other reviewers, reviews. I bought this tripod anyway ! I have limited experience with a tripod, but this, so far is doing everything that I need it to. The leg locks are actually adjustable for tightness, so anyone having trouble isn't using it correctly. I bought this particular assembly for its capability of hanging a camera out over a counter/table to take pictures straight down, with its extendable center support. Solid and works well for this application. The extendable center support adds a lot of uses over a standard tripod.

This was my first time using Adorama. I am new to photography and needed to obtain a 4/3 camera and accessories. The Tripod works perfectly! They were great taking my order over the phone and answering my questions. Everything arrived on time and in good condition. I will be returning in the future.

Overall I am pleased with this tripod. It is a step up from an aluminum Manfrotto I have been lugging around for close to 20 years. It is not quite as light as I had imagined it to be but still acceptable. The legs took some adjusting when I first started using it as they were slipping. I have been using the tripod multiple times a week for a few weeks now and I am still having to adjust the tension on the leg locks more than I desire. When I was looking for a tripod I was hoping to find all of the features I wanted in my price range and this one had all of those except one which is twist locks. I feel that my frustration with the legs would have been avoided had they not been lever locks. I like that the column can be converted and this feature has been used to an extent. The point of rotation has teeth to hold the angle which is a plus. The overall height with the column down is almost tall enough for me to look in the viewfinder so I do not have to raise it but a couple of inches.

This puppy rocks, steady, and sturdy. Loved how it handles an 80d with a 100-400 is with attached 1.4 teleconverter. Good value and nice features also handles binoculars, a sky -pro 20x80 mm are quite large and heavy, last full moon viewing was supreme. Glade to have added this to my equipment inventory, and highly recommend you procure one for yourself, it will please you I'm sure.

My Panasonic G85 mounted with a cage with attached LED light and remote mic receiver. This tripod works great for me. The value for the money is worth it.

This appears to be an excellent value for the money. Built much better than expected. A bit on the heavy side but with the articulating center column, it works well. The leg locks were pretty tough to operate so I did loosen the mechanism slightly making sure that the legs were secure when in the locked position. Highly recommended if you are looking for a reasonably priced, sturdy yet versatile tripod.

You can basically put the camera wherever you like and lock it into place. When using splayed legs and a tilted column, you must be aware that it will sag a little bit when you let go. You just adjust for it. One complaint: the leg clamps are a little weak. One leg was slipping, so I tried to tighten. The clamp broke and there does not seem to be a ready way to order another. I'll update this whether I'm successful or not.

Heavy, legs do not stay in locked position. Mine broke. Junk. I wanted to like it, but.... Do not be fooled into thinking you can get a high quality tripod for the price of a cheap one. You get what you pay for. Save you money and wait until you can buy a high quality tripod.

Great tripod because of the lightweight and the low price. The center post can pull out and make it parallel. I love it

I recently took this to Rocky Mountain National Park, the light weight made it nice for hiking. However, the screws in the legs loosen very easily. And there’s no company website to go to find out who I should contact.

This tripod allows you to get your camera into all sorts of tricky positions very easily. I got the pistol grip ball head with it, and am able get my camera with an ultra wide lens very low and parallel to the ground because of the way the ball head tilts back far enough to counter the downward angle of the center column as it extends toward the ground when the tripod is spread out at minimum height. This allows for those cool landscape shots where there's an interesting foreground element right up in your face. This is a very nice tripod setup. I highly recommend it!

A tripod that does what I need!
By JOHN T.
In addition to the light weight, this tripod with the head attached allows me to look through the viewfinder without bending over or raising the center post. My only concern is that the flip lock levers are very tight, hard for me with arthritis to lock and unlock the legs. But, maybe they will loosen some with use. wish I had purchased it sooner.
It Does Everything You Need It To

To be fair I have to admit that this is my first "pricy" tripod purchase. That being said, for the price I believe this is a fantastic addition to anyone's kit. I opted for the Carbon Fiber version because this tripod is not small and it's rigidity and lighter weight are superior to the aluminum version in my opinion. If you plan to travel with this tripod just be aware its not advertised as a travel pod so don't think it's gonna shrink down to travel size. First, when it arrived I was im...

The 3POD Orbit Tripod is a full service photo and video tripod, featuring fully adjustable legs and shaft, as well as the Orbit Overhead Shot System, which allows the shaft to rotate outwards from the legs, for low angle, overhead, and other specialty shots.
Using top quality materials for a balance of stability and portability, the 3POD Orbit Tripod is an excellent choice for photography and video professionals. Mount it with your favorite specialty tripod head or choose one of our kits for added savings!
Photographers choose Aluminum for its affordable durability and strength. The weight and stability of Aluminum make it a favorite for everyday use.
The 3POD Orbit Tripod has all of the features demanded by imaging professionals:
Orbit Overhead Shot System
The Orbit Overhead Shot System goes above and beyond. Besides being height adjustable like typical tripod shafts, the Orbit Overhead Shot System allows theshaft to pivot away from the tripod body, for low angle, overhead, macro, and other specialty shots. The shaft can also be rotated independent of the tripod head, for pans, tilts, and panoramas.
Leg Spreaders
Each leg is topped by a leg angle lock, which allows the legs to independently be spread to 85°, 60° and 35° angles. This is useful to get best stability on uneven terrain, inclines, and steps, as well as for composing low angle shots. There is a bubble level on the top plate to assist in leveling the tripod.
Foot Spikes
When used indoors, unscrew the foot covers so that the spikes are covered by the rubber feet. These will ensure a better grip on smooth flooring, and prevent damage. For outdoor use or on rocky ground, screw the rubber feet up to expose the spikes. These will provide better grip on soft or impressionable surfaces.
Leg Grip
One of the legs has a soft grip surface on it. In cold weather handle the tripodby this surface to avoid touching the colder sections.
Flip Locks
For ease of opening and closing, nothing beats Flip Locks. Feel confident in thestability of your rig with the firm snap of the Flip Lock clicking shut.
Reversible 3/8" and ¼"-20 Screw Mount
The shaft can easily be changed from 3/8" to ¼"-20 screw mount by rotating the top plate until the screw mount comes out, then flipping it over.
This 3POD item is covered by a 5 year warranty.
Available in 3 or 4 section units, made from high quality Aluminum or Carbon Fiber.
