While the camera setup and image are fine there's not a very useful way to adjust the position of the camera. Too bad a ball and cup could not be used. Also there is nothing in the manual that indicates where and how to install a micro sd card.

I have setup all 3 of my Cameras and have had no issue. Just wish your ICloud was not so costly. Setup cameras to store motion alerts to local network using BlueIris

This is a great camera that was easy to install and set up. The picture is much better than the camera it replaced. One other feature I liked is the wiring is enclosed to protect it from the elements.

Worked as expected with easy set up, good value. More user manual detail on the various options would help and add a star.

It was time to replace my driveway camera and I have been impressed with the quality of the video and love the wide angle view. I would definitely go with the model should I need to replace any more of my outdoor cameras.

Bought three of these and impressed with the quality of the image, both night and day. Had an issue setting them up and called customer service and the tech quickly understood the issue and set the camera thru the NVR in no time. Would definitely recommend Amcrest products and their customer service. Shipping was quick.

Very good day view on the 4-megapixel but night vision within 35-40 feet not so Good, all in all I would say works well for the average household they keep you informed with what’s going on around the home.

Overall I like the camera and the resulting image. The one issue that has been a problem (and so far not resolved) is the "Push Notification" to the smartphone (iPhone) is not reliable. Most times if the Push Notification does come through, the event is shown as not recorded. However, if you go through the "Playback" option, the event is recorded. The ordering process through the web is easy, efficient, and shipping is fairly quick. The camera is well packaged, and come with mounting hardware. The camera build is robust - metal housing, metal mounting hardware. These camera look like they were designed to withstand the outside environment. Connection to my network was a bit awkward - the wireless connection method (as specified in the "Quick Start Guide") did not work , and I had to connect the camera via the wired connection process/method. Once connected to my network, then the wireless connection worked fine. The motion detection region setting is a bit of a test of one's patience. Setting via the phone application, setting it via the computer software (Amcrest Surveillance Pro\Amcrest Surveillance Pro), and setting vi the web interface all result in different regions being set. Since it is stored in the camera they should all be the same, but it does not work that way. The web interface ONLY works via Internet Explorer - not any of the new/modern web browsers (for PC, not sure on the Mac). Amcrest really needs to get the web browser capability up for the more up to date browsers (i.e. Firefox, et al). On the camera farthest from the router, I had to improvise a bit with the antenna in order to get a solid connection that allowed for real-time image transmission without it glitching/pausing. To improve the signal connection I used an antenna cable to remotely place the antenna in a location that had better reception. This was done in conjunction with a range extender for the router signal. On the smartphone application (iPhone), the default playback should not be set for four cameras, it should be set for one camera (or at least user defined). There is too much user input that needs to be done in order to view a recorded event. The PC software (Amcrest Surveillance Pro\Amcrest Surveillance Pro) is much better at this. Areas To Improve: 1. Web Browser interface for modern browsers (i.e. Firefox) 2. Fix the Smartphone application 3. Improve the gain on the antenna. 4. The documentation for the PC software and smartphone application are not very helpful - lots of trial and error. Once you work through the issues, I have found the camera does a very nice job. Getting to this point has been a test of my patience, and lots of trial and error (mostly error). This is not a simple "plug it in and it works" camera system

I never tried a WiFi camera before and used to steer away from them. I was in a situation where I couldn't use a POE and my only option was the WiFi. I purchased the IP4M -1026 and connected it (temporarily) aiming out of my garage window. I was pleased to see that the WiFi was just as clear as the POE cameras and shockingly comes up on my live view faster than the POE's. Never lost a signal either. Amcrest shipped it right away and I know they're always there if I need assistance. This is a very nice camera and would definitely buy it again.

Purchased 3 Amcrest indoor cameras and 1 Amcrest outdoor camera and I couldn’t be more happen with the ease of installation and how they operate . Straight forward instructions on how to install was a nice surprise ... basically plug in download cameras into the Amcrest app ... and begin enjoying your camera system I would highly recommend this brand and I purchased because I felt it was good value for the dollar Thanks again !

Let me start by saying I compared this outdoor camera to 3 others and out of the 4 I tested, this comes in at 3rd. I tested against the Blink XT, Nest, and EZViz 1080. This armcrest camera is by far the worst when it comes to the phone app. It feels clunky and dated and waaay too involved compared to the other cameras. When I set up the camera, it wouldn’t recognize the setup process via wi-fi and I was forced to attach the Ethernet cord. Annoying. The camera performs ok when it’s all set up, but the night view is not as good as expected. One of the most troubling things about the camera overall is the number of spelling errors I noticed in the online setup/support directions! I don’t know about you, but when a product has misspellings in the actual support page document, I have real concerns about the business as a whole and it makes me feel like I’m dealing with an inferior company and product. Lastly, read the return policy...atrocious! Talk about breaking someone’s will to follow through on making a return...this company basically ties your hands once you purchase! They obviously need more experienced software engineers...even writing this review on their format was a challenge.

Amcrest makes an excellent product at a competitive price and provides extensive support videos for its products. For this old-timer, I still needed the step-by-step telephone guidance from Carlos B as he walked me through the entire setup and full functionality of the system which is has much greater depth and capacity than appears on the surface. His patience and knowledge was beyond expectation. Kudos to the product development team and especially to Carlos B. and the tech support services of Amcrest.

After testing one IP2M-841 camera for over a year, and trying one competing brand running only on cloud, I decided to build a system of several high resolution PoE and Wi-Fi cameras connected to a local NVR, all from Amcrest. I prefer local storage over cloud. I like combining both worlds of wired and wireless. Amcrest provides the right products I need. Installation with default set-ups was easy. However, it takes longer time to fine tune, as explained below. Firstly, the hardware quality of Amcrest products are very high. Picture quality is excellent and everything is running reliably. There is highly sophisticated software built in and around these hardware. It takes time to learn and improve setup. The only drawback I see is the documentation, which is sometimes inconsistent and not up-to-date. I am highly info tech savvy, so I could figure out things, but there should be a comprehensive vocabulary and user manuals with implementation guidance (e.g. use cases) for non-technical DIY customers. However, there are a lot of info and videos on YouTube and other sources; it’s just time consuming to find them.

I already had two of these cameras as part of my security system for several months and purchased 2 more to add. These all give a very clear picture and are relatively easy to set up and add to a blue iris system.

Each zone includes its own sensitivity and threshold meters so you can fine-tune it exactly to your liking. Let the Amcrest camera hold its focus so you don't have to lose yours.
Intelligent Timeline Playback
Your stored recordings and pictures are precious, and having that data at hand is the whole point of using a security camera. Whether sharing with friends and family, or presenting evidence in a court case, it is important to be able to immediately identify, track down, playback, and export what you want, when you want it. The Amcrest camera's intuitive searchable timeline will make your life easier, save you time, and act as a sophisticated built-in video player.
Infrared Night Vision
Cutting-edge night vision technology allows you to get a crystal clear picture even when it's dark. With this powerful feature, you can gain total awareness over the previously unseen and do so in a way that is undetectable.
Wide 118 Degree Viewing Angle
A carefully crafted 2.8mm fixed lens with a max aperture of F2.4 generates striking visuals owing to the 118 degree viewing angle. With such a wide field of view you will have no problem keeping what you care about in your sights.
Secure SSL connections via HTTPS
The Amcrest ProHD camera features secure SSL connections via HTTPS to comply with modern WiFi standards for encrypted connections. This way you can always be assured that, as you play your footage, you're also playing it safe.
