I got this lav setup fall 2018. I have used it on multiple intervjues. Batteries works all day , and I found a clever software I use. Danish Hindenburg. I can transfer the audio direct to my Mac with no issues. Sounds great and for the price, its unbeatable ! Great alternative to Røde that everyone is getting for a premium price. I think it has a warmer sound to it. Try it, and see what you think.

The audio of this lav mic is terrible. It has too much bass. It sounds like you’re in a 90s tv show. Might return.

I bought this as an interview mic and it’s great for that purpose. The ‘niceties’ that it comes with are really off the charts - the extra cables for hookup, the case, the wind screens. The ONLY issue I’ve had is that in my set up it can have a tendency to buzz. When used with a 6D that is tethered, or when placed near a monitor it develops a distinct - and very annoying - buzz. So, monitor your audio while in use and you’ll be fine. In all honesty, I imagine this problem would be common among any lav mics of this design, so I can’t say it is a problem exclusive to the A.Lav.

I've used this thing on paid shoots, and it's come through fine. The tone is a bit muddy compared to a pro microphone, but you can add some brightness and clarity with the EQ. Remarkably low self-noise. So with pro skills and gear you can get it across the finish line just fine for any but very sophisticated clients. For home projects and school things it's stellar for the money. I'm thinking of buying a second for interviewing two people simultaneously. For my money the best value under 50 bucks.

I was looking for an inexpensive mic I could plug into my phone or voice recorder. This fits the bill just fine with attachment cords for phone, record and camera. Comes with wind sock, all the different cords, including the nice, long mic cord and a convenient small carry case. My only complaint is the extra battery/connector portion, it can be a little cumbersome if you are waking/talking with that, all with cords and recorder. Would be better if that had a clip/belt clip. Pros: Price, Features, Compatibility Cons: Battery/Connector

Pros: Price, packaging, audio quality, overall feel Cons: Thin wire, lacks charging cord This is my first foray into lavalier microphones, so I really do not have much to compare it with. However, there are a number of video reviews online with actual audio comparisons between this and other inexpensive microphones. From those reviews, this appears to provide much better quality than its $20 competitors. I am satisfied with the quality. I'm sure that for ($) you could get something better, but once again, I really have nothing to compare it to, and have not used it very much yet myself. It is definitely better than the built-in microphone on my DSLR. The packaging impressed me. It comes in a neat little hard-shelled, zippered carrying case that stores the microphone and all of its components. The one glaring omission is a MicroUSB cable required to charge it before the first use. The charging cable it comes with is designed to have a MicroUSB (NOT MiniUSB) cable plugged into it, such as many cell phones use. Thankfully, I had such a cable around the house, but this will not plug directly into a standard USB 2.0 wall charger or laptop port without an additional cable. The cable is ample length for most uses, and it has the adapters to plug into a smartphone headphone jack as well as the mic jack on a DSLR. It is a powered mic, so it should work with most other devices, such as a laptop, as well. The build quality is solid, with the adapter/battery apparatus made of metal and feeling sturdy. My only other concern, which is common to most budget audio equipment, is the thickness of the cable. I will be treating mine very gently to avoid developing shorts. Overall I would definitely recommend this microphone to someone looking for a budget lavalier microphone, and I would especially recommend Adorama as the supplier. I've had nothing but good experience with them so far.
